Docent Opportunity at Columbia State Historic Park

Columbia, CA...Docents wanted! Columbia SHP is looking for individuals with a passion for gold rush history, costuming, living history re-enactments, special events, museum staffing, and school group and public tour leaders. This is a great opportunity to get behind-the-scenes knowledge of the largest gold rush town still in existence. Work with staff on special events to accomplish exciting reenactments of the gold rush experience. Dress up in 1850s and 1860s costumes and staff venues such as the schoolhouse, Wells Fargo office, Miner’s cabin, and educate visitors about the life of a merchant at the California store. Columbia State Historic Park (SHP) announced the annual Volunteer Meet and Greet scheduled Saturday, August 21 at 10 a.m. in the park. The event is an opportunity for volunteer minded individuals to learn more about being a park docent.
