Local Pro Choice Parents, Students & Community Members Addressed Bret Harte District Board

Angels Camp, CA...As local school districts weigh virus concerns against personal freedoms a group of parents, students & community members demonstrated along Hwy 49 and then took their concerns inside to let the Bret Harte District Board know that they believe the health choices should be left up to the individuals. They told us before we snapped the photo below that they were not against masks. They are just mask pro choice.

These clueless morons are spreaders of a sometimes lethal virus.
98% of those in the ICUs are vaccinated idiots. They all say in the hospital bed get the vaccine.
Masks don't make people sick, kids or adults . Health professionals wear them all day every day all day.
The morons on Fox and other reich wing sites are all about Freedum.
You don't have the right to make others sick or threaten their lives.

Children don't have any problems wearing masks or breathing on Halloween. Truth is, masks and breathing are not the issue here. At risk to our public health, they're being used as props in our culture war by the losers of the last election.

In California, it is a misdemeanor to knowingly try to spread your HIV to another person without telling them. Don't pretend that people who believe themselves to be healthy have any obligation to you other than to live their lives as free people.

Make your own choices, and deal with it.

I could care less if you or anybody else gets the vaccine , I got it because it was my choice and I'm dealing with it . I remember back in the early 60's lining up in the brezze way at Mark Twain Elementary and receiving the polio vaccine in a sugar cube , haven't heard about Polio for years ?

Imagine this scenario, one of these ignorant fools preaching about freedom to wear a mask or NOT wear a mask had to get surgery. Be it from a car crash or a boob job. Imagine getting prepped for surgery, getting wheeled into the operating room only to find all of the Drs, Nurses, Anesthesiologist, support staff unmasked, no gowns, gloves, dirty surgical instruments. These idiots ask "what is going on? Why aren't you covered up? The surgery staff replies: "we don't believe in masks or germs, it's a left wing media propaganda farce" " The government can't force us to be clean and sterile.'
How many of these morons would stick around for the surgery?
Probably 50% would stay to prove their point.

This mask and vax thing is the last thing most any principal, superintendent, or school board wants to deal with. In many cases, they are simply trying to comply with governMENTAL mandates. Your concerns need to be expressed to school leaders, but realize they are trying to "balance" things. Your concerns and images and declarations of non-compliance need to make it to the upper levels of government. Governmedical tyranny cannot be masked.

Covid is not going anywhere and will not be eradicated no matter how many people wear a mask or get a shot. Just like the flu hasn’t. Which by the way, the flu kills more children every season than covid has in the last 18+ months. So if you believe in masks I sure hope you’ll continue wearing yours during flu season for the rest of your life if that’s how you think you “protect” your kids health. Its not our kids job to protect your sorry ass!

Regardless of political affiliation, something is happening in some public schools that children need the "PARENT PARTY" to stand up for!

Here’s hope for parents who don’t want to relinquish their parenting to the schools, politics and agencies that weasel their way in…

I teach children (in a public school). Yet I do NOT indoctrinate. I do not assume power to give medical advice or directives to mask or unmask. I do not push world views. I do not judge that a child needs racial, political, or sexual orientation “guidance.” My job is to convey neutral subject matter, and to form a positive connection with students. I act if I discern a child is in danger. I elect to not contribute to the union or its causes. I am intimately acquainted with how schools and districts and boards operate, and am more disturbingly, familiar with “current events” and social agendas that worm their way into schools. I reluctantly got “the vaccine.” (And by the way, it’s no one’s business if I did or didn’t.) I’m a teacher. My job is simply (or not simply) to teach and connect.
I will not be muzzled with a mask at school or anywhere. I will not force my students to be muzzled. I will not adopt, embrace, or convey any racist theories. I will use the pronoun that corresponds to my own and others’ natural birth gender. I will not be a puppet or machine of any social or political agenda. I will teach children. I will honor and protect them as influenceable young people. I will not take advantage of my position to attempt to sway them medically, religiously, racially, genderly, or in any other human-invented fallible doctrine. I will teach them as I would want my own child to be taught. I will honor the parent’s right and role to be the one who educates his/her child about the world.
Fellow teachers, I challenge you to scrutinize your role and boundaries. You have a moral imperative to refrain from pushing false, popular, unproven, or harmful practices and doctrine - or your own beliefs - upon innocent, malleable children. (That is NOT at all your job!) If you feel you are being “forced” to give “medical advice” or indoctrinate or to relay politically/socially-motivated material, take a stand! There are many others who will begin to stand with you.
Parents, YOU GOTTA STAND UP! You have no voice if you do not stand up to speak and act on behalf of your child!
Masks - If you object to restriction of your child’s breathing and ability to speak and to read and to convey and read social facial cues, and to feel human, and to avoid depression, then stand up! Short term bout with a virus vs. long term respiratory impact of prolonged masking – you decide.
Doctrines - Find out if your local school is embracing the socially-imposed Critical Race Theory (or any of its disguised counterparts.)
Pronouns - Make sure your child’s teachers and school are not leading your child down a path of “alternative gender discovery.”
HOW? Talk to your child’s teacher. Ask the site administrator straight up. Ask the superintendent directly. Address the school board in in the Public Comments time at board meetings, and demand a response. Call. Leave a message. Send an e-mail. Post a comment. Do it now, before it’s too late.
Step into your child’s education. Stay in touch with your child’s teacher. Ask your child about the school day. You have ONE SHOT at raising your child. That is NOW, in the moment, not tomorrow. Don’t wait. Don’t leave it up to others. You got this!

If kids are so resilient why are tons of adults in therapy dealing with childhood trauma?

If kids are so resilient why are suicide rates on the rise?

If kids are so resilient why are they having panic attacks and not wanting to go to school?

When we say “kids are resilient” do we really mean “kids feelings don’t matter and they’ll be fine”? I hope not.

Let’s stop making children shoulder a weight they should never have to bear.

Let’s protect our children’s emotional and mental health as much as we protect their physical health.

Let’s not use our children’s supposed resilience as an excuse for allowing them to be subject to things they shouldn’t be.

Let’s listen to and acknowledge our children’s feelings through all of this.

Let’s stop viewing children (and all humans) as walking diseases just waiting to infect us.

Kids are not resilient, but most times they have no choice or don’t know any better. So just because they seem “resilient” on the surface doesn’t mean they’re not suffering inside or that they won’t deal with consequences in the future.

Moms, dads, caregivers: our children deserve better. We need to do better.

Selfish, self-absorbed millennials and their offspring. This is not about you but the well-being of others. That's why we call it Public Health. You should especially be ashamed of not being concerned about those with immunocompromised systems, those with cancer and other diseases whose bodies to not respond by making more antibodies.

Someone needs to tell the hot mess in the white spaghetti strap top out front that dressing like you’re 16 when you’re 45 is trashy. Also - a bra is not optional when the girls are hanging down to your bellybutton.
Cover that sh*t up and start dressing and acting like an adult. Your children must be so embarrassed!

No kidding but sadly doubt the kids are embarrassed. Children learn what they live and will consider that the norm. It'll take going away to school and seeing how others live and work to understand.

I'd say enough already and just let them die but, sadly, it doesn't work that way. They will take out others with them including the sick and infirm. Do none of you have a real doctor or medical professional in your life in which you can confide. Seems like some Calaveras folks get their medical knowledge from their hairdresser or auto mechanic, not that those people aren't talented in their own areas. Too many restaurant and bar owners, especially in Angels Camp, seem to think they know better too.

The phrasing in this headline and article isn't journalistic. It's inappropriate to use a group's chosen self-description when that framing is both confusing and deceptively phrased.

Many people will come away from this article thinking these people are protesting something to do with reproductive freedom. Others will internalize the politicized phrasing as truth because it was repeated here.

The correct framing of the protest would be as "anti-mask mandate."

Darwinism in action
Posted on: 2021-08-19 18:07:58   By: Anonymous

No matter what we do as a society, there will always be a certain segment of the population that:

Won’t wear a seat belt
Won’t use birth control.
Won’t protect themselves and others from STD’s.
Continue to drink and drive.
Smoke cigarettes.
Smoke weed.
Use meth.
Refuse childhood vaccinations for their children.
Won’t evacuate for a forest fire or hurricane.
Drive aggressively, tailgating & speeding.

And….won’t wear a simple, easily procured mask as a useful gesture to protect themselves and others during a horrific pandemic.

Apparently, this is just the way of the world, from time immemorial.

The more we choose to pay attention to these braying, attention-seeking fools, the more they are encouraged to think that their idiotic choices and positions are somehow valid.

We need to stop feeding their braying victimhood and self-pity, and learn to treat them kindly as the imbeciles that they truly are.

Ignore these pitiful and senseless people.

One way or another, they will eventually go away.

Dr. Elliott Smart

Dr. Smart was an amazing man who’s family owned property in Murphys. His entire life was dedicated to the service of others. He was a veteran, enlisting TWICE, once to serve in WWII, and then again in Korea.

He would be absolutely HORRIFIED to see these attention-hungry fools protesting a simple public health measure like the wearing of masks. Dr. Smart was a surgeon, and understood the importance of masking.

Would these protesters want their OWN surgeons operating on them without a mask?! Of course not! Because these protesters understand exactly what a mask does, and how it works.

The only conclusion one can draw from their “protest” is that, while they probably understand germ theory, they simply feel that it does not apply to themselves.

How stupid can anyone choose to be?!

An awful woman who owns one of the salons in Murphys (I’m intentionally omitting her name) has a giant, glossy, professionally made Let Them Breathe sign in front of her dilapidated house. Right next to her truck full of Trump flags.
The signs are obviously being pumped out by some insidious group with lots of cash.
Does anyone think about who might be funding those signs? Who would sink money into encouraging parents to fight saving their children from, at best, life long health problems leftover from a dangerous virus?
It’s baffling to me no one is asking this question. They just buy whatever they read on Facebook and slap up signs in front of their homes. Or stand in front of the high school and yell.
I feel genuine embarrassment for my town every time I drive by that damn sign. Such vile stupidity.

What you seem to be missing is that it is not about personal choice when it comes to the health and well-being of the greater good. To do anything else is selfish and uncaring. Because they can still be asymptomatic and spread the virus to others with immunocompromised systems that cannot produce antibodies in sufficient quantities to fight it, even with a vaccination. New evidence suggests that we contract and spread the disease with the vaccine, too, what is being termed "break through" cases. A very small number but still possible - that is why masks are another layer of protection.
