There was a fire in Moke Hill today. North side of Highway 49 & Center Street. Started in a shop/barn next to a house. No one was home, gate locked. Good Samaritans went to property and started using the garden hoses. No fire truck from Moke Hill showed up. A Cal Fire pick-up showed up with a small hand crew with back packs and hand tools about 30 minutes later. 15 to 20 minutes later planes were in the air and trucks were coming from San Andreas. Fire got into vegetation going mainly South. towards Main Street. Fire was stopped thank God.

Correction: The start of the fire was the South, not North ,side of Highway 49 & Center Street.

Something is very strange with all these fires starting. Not usual for our county and hope authorities are investigating.
