All Your Redistricting Questions Answered & All in One Place!

San Andreas, CA...Recently redistricting town halls were held throughout the county on what the potential changes that will need to be made to district boundaries in wake of the 2020 Census. The cliff notes version is while overall population in Calaveras County remained largely static where those people live in the county did not. District Two due primarily to the Butte Fire lost about 2,000 residents and because of this District Two will have to grow enough in size to recoup its populations losses so the 5 supervisorial districts can maintain population parity. Below are the Town Halls as filmed by Calaveras PATV.

If you want a good laugh at some idiot, go to Fox News and watch Biden forget the name of Australia's Prime Minister calling him " that fellow Down Under"
If Joe gets any weaker he's going to be seen taking naps at a kindergarten school after getting gram crackers and prune juice.

I'll raise you one Biden memory fail to the multitude of times Trump couldn't recall the names of people he worked with daily or on his staff. And who can forget the spectacular fail when he did not know the name of the town of Paradise on his post-fire visit, instead calling it "Pleasure." ;)
ps - Think you mean "graham" crackers.

Hey - residents of Calaveras under 50. What do you say - when the Racist Boomer Trump Anti Vaxxers all die, you wanna switch to the metric system? You down for that? So it's no longer just us and North Korea not knowing how many meters are in a kilometer or how hot 25 degrees is?

What is all the hype about? After Newsom received no recall perhaps all republicans will turn democrats and let’s just “eliminate” the Republican Party! Hopefully, they get their wish and then we’ll see how our nation works! Good luck. Who really cares now days?

One things for certain, the Republican party needs to distance themselves from Trump. Many did not vote for Elder in the recall election because he came off as a Trump clone. I've been voting independent for a number of years now but can recall when the Republican party stood for fiscal austerity and responsibility.

The vast majority of the GOP has adopted many of Trump's core malignancies in a desperate effort to maintain their voter base. Gaslighting, paranoia, projection. Especially projection. No shame or contrition. Only contrived empathy. Deny, distract, deflect, and double down.

The divide is not a political party, both are morally corrupt. There is a moral and common sense divide among the population. Many things are a simple fix that the majority could agree upon. But those morally corrupt seek to make it all so convoluted that you have to vote for something you do not want, because it is packaged with something you do want. How wrong and corrupt is that?

Do you really live here? How could you citidiot tranplants not care about our issues here, rather than your city politics and issues back home?

We are being burnt out, wildlife wiped out and our beautiful natural environment destroyed by the voting decisions made by city and coastal people. If you really live here this should be the top issue to you.

Their issues are not the same as ours. Issues such as building to stack more people on top of each other. Too many people too close together spreading disease. Masses of homeless laying all over the streets. Asians being beat and robbed in the streets by Blacks. Breaking in and looting of stores driving them out of business. Drive by shootings. Murders every night.

California needs to thrive before Calaveras or Camp Connell Does.

I need my country, state, county, city, and then street to be great. In that order.

You see, Calaveras didn't fight in the 2nd world war. American did. And so it goes.

We have a San Francisco Governor. We are nothing like San Francisco, nor do we want to be. He does not care about the largest land areas of the state that are rural and less populated. He is backed by rich cities and coastal areas and only beholden to them and their issues. It is unfair that we are not able to make the best decisions for ourselves, We need fair and balanced representation so that the issues that pertain only to us can be addressed for the safety and well being of our counties. Being over run by voting of city people is deadly for us.

Exactly. And that's why we're fools to keep voting Republican. A Democrat - in a position of power who is a moderate would be FAR more useful for our community than an ideology republican with no power.

We keep voting against our best interests. We're idiots. Stockton figured it out and flipped (D) and is is a MUCH better place now. We keep shooting ourselves in the foo because we're distracted by the D or the R after the name.

Putting a Democrat in Sacramento is the best thing we could do for our interests, instead of a Republican with zero power, budget or influence.

Based on the numbers attending in these photos or videos, it wouldn't seem too many are particularly concerned with redistricting.

Jesus! (not in a religious, but more of an astounded way).

They are going to pass CA soon. And we're about twice their population. How about we block travel from FL for the unvaccinated?

(To say nothing of the fact that they are probably 'rounding down' to the nearest 50,000, and calling COVID deaths 'natural causes' if the deceased is over 80...)

Follow the Data
Posted on: 2021-09-16 16:31:37   By: Anonymous

Fact: The uptake in positive tests for Covid is primarily among the unvaccinated.
Fact: Resistance to getting a vaccine in California is primarily conservatives and evangelicals (though some liberals against technology are in this group).
Question: What is the relationship between COVID positivity and political preferences.
I took Monday's COVID report data for last week for each county and computed the per capita (100,000) and the percent of YES votes for the recall of Gavin Newsom (as a proxy for political preference where "Yes" is conservative.
The net result was that there was a 77.6% positive correlation between counties with higher than average COVID rates and whether those counties preferred to recall the Governor.

The data is below.

The conclusion is that "stupid is as stupid does" -- those that reject science are also prone to reject liberal values. No surprise, but the data simply confirms the battle lines that lie ahead.

Nice work, and no surprise as you say. The numbers for smaller counties like Del Norte, Tehama, Lassen and Shasta are probably skewed because of smaller populations, but jeeze, they're brutal.
