I think you're confused. I believe the proposal is to send troops to eastern European NATO countries to bolster their defenses. Not, sending American troops into the country of Ukraine.

Many war fronts appearing; Russia/ Ukraine ,China/Taiwan.
If a major war begins, it will start with incursions, then cyber war.
The US sadly has not protected it's critical infrastructure; electricity grid, water/sewage , the internet.
It was foolish for trump to defund the US cyber security agency.
The question has to be asked after the need was exposed so many times, the examples of hacking, an oil pipeline shut down due to blackmail, with hacking threats, other examples of cyber insecurity, trump fired and defunded our agency to combat protect the US. Why?
The indebtedness of trump to the Russians, and their grooming of him for decades may hold the reason.
Still the US has not begun a serious effort to protect all it's critical infrastructure against cyber attack. This opens up America to complete defeat if enemies decide to use cyber attacks.
Once again, exceptional America with it's proud policy of privatizing so many critical pillars of it's infrastructure all for profit first, always, makes America a soft target.

Sending any of our troops to a country that the Americans could give a sh*t about is a stupid move. Bumbling Biden should have taken care of Putin months ago instead of being a pussy and letting him bully him. President Trump would not allow all of this sh*t to happen. The Russians started grooming Trump back in the 80's. He just didn't know it. To busy being Donald. Putin loved Trump in the WH. All he had to do was stroke Trump's ego to completely control him.
