California Adopts More Aggressive Water Conservation Measures

Sacramento, CA...Governor Gavin Newsom issued the following statement after the State Water Resources Control Board adopted emergency water conservation regulations today in response to the Governor’s March Executive Order: “California is facing a drought crisis and every local water agency and Californian needs to step up on conservation efforts. I am hopeful the measures enacted by the State Water Board will lead to a reduction of water use across the state. These conservation measures are increasingly important as we enter the summer months. I’m asking all Californians to step up, because every single drop counts.”

The State Water Resources Control Board voted unanimously today to implement a statewide ban on watering of non-functional turf in the commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors, as well as regulations requiring local agencies to implement water use restrictions amid the possibility that water supplies may be up to 20% lower due to extreme weather. Water saving tips can be found at www.saveourwater.com. Someone needs to tell that rancher across from the rock and gravel place on Murphys Grade Road to take a look at his sprinklers. They've been on in the heat of the day for years.

Go ahead. I’d love to see knock on his door. And by the way that’s the waste water after it’s treated to drink.

Curious as to what qualifies as non-essential turf? Other than sports arenas, imagine it could be anyone's lawn and those planted around government buildings, too.

Gavy needs to get into his starship and make a jaunt to Orange Co. we have a water moratorium and these Bozos are building apt. Complexes in Huntington Beach that will have a 1,000 units. This water problem is fully in the Sierra Club aka: Libtard party from top to bottom. Go by Melones (Federally run) half empty, go by Don Pedro run by the (Modesto/Turlock Irrigation districts) two thirds full! Beau o rats in Washington D.C. Don’t care about our water storage, they just open the valves and away it goes! To all you AG. Experts, you can’t and don’t know how much of this water is being used for all the crops grown! How about shutting the water off to all the wine grapes?

How about using the 98 billion dollar surplus to build dams in Southern California or build desalination plants up & down the coast? Gavin just throws his hands up & says use less water. F-ing joke of a governor

Gavin will do like any democrat and pass a bill in legislation to charge all California residents $1.00/gallon for water useage. Bet your ass it will pass! Democrats are helpless, useless and worthless!!

Democrats love spending money they never worked for. It has been going since on before my time.
