Mother Lode Fishing Report~By Danny Layne at Fish'n Dan's Guide Service

New Melones, this impoundment on the Stanislaus watershed continues to produce the finest Kokanee fishing here in Northern California. Kokes over two pounds are very common as witnessed by Ron Peterson of Sonora who took an easy limit on 8-08-08 off the spillway at 105'. Most of Ron's catch came on Uncle Larry's Spinners or Glitterbug Glow Hootchies scented with garlic Shoepeg corn trailed behind a Shasta Tackle U.V. Slingblade.....

New Hogan, good striper action, bass are averaging five to eight pounds and hitting rolled anchovies from 20' to 30' off the face of the dam and also off Deer Flat.
