Congressman Lungren Speaks In Copperopolis Tonight...Higher Res Replay Available Now
Copperopolis, CA...Congressman Dan Lungren is speaking to a good sized crowd at the Copperopolis Armory tonight. One of the hot topics is energy and energy costs. He has mentioned that for the last few months energy has been the single biggest topic from his constituents. Housing has run a distant second. One interesting note he has brought forward is that China now has the rights to drill about 45 miles off of the Florida Coast in International waters. We have limited ourselves to drilling no closer than 100 miles off of the very same coast....
Large Format Replay is Enclosed
In that instance we have put ourselves into a position policy wise where a foreign country could actually according to Congressman Lungren drill closer to our coasts than we can.
The Copperopolis Cub Scouts started things off with a rousing rendition of the national anthem. During the question and answer part of the evening energy continued the theme. A local navy veteran was concerned about energy costs and also what is happening to the housing market. He mentioned that the home he and his wife own is now worth $100,000 less than they paid for it. Some of his questions were around what could be done to stimulate the economy as a whole.
Congressman Lungren also explained why he eventually voted for the Housing Bill after initially being against it. One of his comments indicated that he felt the US had to be seen as doing something about the economic environment and the housing sector specifically as not to put further pressure on the world financial markets.
Congressman Lungren also brought many of his staff with him to introduce them to his constituents.
We are taping the meeting and we will have it available in it's entirety.
We are moving to a new embedded video player system that should be much more friendly to our Mac owning friends. If it asks you install Silverlight it is only a small download. We are using a early release version of the player and it seems to have issues displaying the actual length of long videos. This should be rectified soon. Typically your video will be ready to play as soon as you can see an image under the start arrow. Let us know if you have any problems.
