Governor Newsom Names Environmental Attorney Amelia Yana Garcia Gonzalez New Secretary for Environmental Protection

Sacramento, CA...Governor Gavin Newsom today announced that Amelia Yana Garcia Gonzalez will serve as California’s next Secretary for Environmental Protection after Secretary Jared Blumenfeld steps down in September. Garcia Gonzalez previously served in various leadership roles at CalEPA focused on environmental justice and tribal affairs.

“Yana’s deep connection to communities, her strong track record as an environmental attorney in holding polluters accountable, and her commitment to bringing diverse interests together make her uniquely matched to the challenges facing California,” said Governor Newsom. “She is a strategic and compassionate leader who played a central role in helping communities gain access to safe and affordable drinking water. Yana is known nationally as a groundbreaking environmentalist who has lifted up the voices of tribal nations, U.S.-Mexico border communities, and those struggling on the frontlines of the battle for environmental justice. I look forward to working with Yana to implement our ambitious environmental agenda with the knowledge that she is resolute in her commitment to ensuring a California for all.”

Secretary Blumenfeld, who has led the California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA) since 2019, will go on to serve as the inaugural President of the Waverley Street Foundation, a new global climate change nonprofit focused on community-driven climate solutions.

“From day one of my administration, Jared has led the charge to implement California’s nation-leading environmental agenda, from driving our efforts to protect public health and the environment to advancing environmental justice and our efforts to fight the climate crisis,” said Governor Newsom. “His bold leadership, innovative partnerships and unwavering focus on the most-impacted communities have been key to our success on pressing issues that Californians care deeply about – including expanding access to safe and affordable drinking water, accelerating the cleanup of toxic pollution in vulnerable communities, and advancing environmental protections that will clean our air and water for generations to come. I know that Jared will continue to be a dynamic force for change in the fight to tackle pollution and forge a cleaner, greener future for our state and the world.”

Amelia Yana Garcia Gonzalez, 38, of Oakland, has served as Special Assistant Attorney General in the California Attorney General’s Office since 2021. She was Deputy Secretary for Environmental Justice, Tribal Affairs and Border Relations at the California Environmental Protection Agency from 2019 to 2021, where she was Assistant Secretary for Environmental Justice and Tribal Affairs from 2017 to 2019. Garcia Gonzalez was an Attorney at Earthjustice from 2015 to 2017, and at Communities for a Better Environment from 2013 to 2015. She was a Legal Research Attorney at the San Francisco County Superior Court from 2012 to 2013, and a post-graduate Law Clerk at Kazan, McClain, Lyons, Greenwood and Harley, A Professional Law Corporation from 2011 to 2012. Garcia Gonzalez earned a Juris Doctor degree from the Northeastern University School of Law. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $232,858. Garcia Gonzalez is a Democrat.

Nothing wrong with Mexicans even though Jill Biden sees them as second class scum referring to them as tacos. But I do have a problem with all of the illegal immigrants pouring through our Southern Border, and those are not just Mexican but all walks of lives. And many are criminals and terrorist. The FBI, the one time trustworthy law agency, has intercepted over three dozen terrorist on the FBI terrorist Alert. Can you imagine how many have come across undetected? Those are just voters for Joe and the socialist.

"Since Joe Biden took office and started implementing his radical open border policies, 42 people on the terrorist watchlist have been apprehended attempting to enter the United States through our southern border illegally.

"They have been apprehended" proves the opposite of your point. They were caught, the system is working well.

Oh, I bet Jennifer is none too happy about this. That's one of the ladies Governor Newsom was having an affair with during the pandemic when he was working "hard" and late in the office. But since she got a few Millions Dollars in " donations" 2.3 Million Dollars actually up to 2019 ( unknown how many million in donations from 2019 to 2022) she's disregarded his numerous affairs. Kind of like the Hunter Biden money trail, our mainstream Media no longer investigated their own political party, just the Republican party.

Energy price increases: South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham proposed an amendment to "strike a tax increase that would result in higher consumer prices for gasoline, heating oil, and other energy sources for Americans earning less than $400,000 per year." It was defeated by Democrats 50-50 with Harris breaking the tie.

2. Oil and gas leases: Wyoming GOP Sen. John Barrasso's amendment to "require certain additional onshore oil and gas lease sales in certain states" was rejected 50-50. Idaho Republican Sen. Mike Crapo proposed a related amendment to expedite consideration of permits and provide regulatory certainty for infrastructure and energy projects, which was also rejected by Democrats 50-49.

3. IRS audits: Crapo proposed a separate amendment to "prevent the use of additional Internal Revenue Service Funds from being used for audits of taxpayers with taxable incomes below $400,000 in order to protect low- and middle-income earning American taxpayers from an onslaught of audits from an army of new Internal Revenue Service auditors funded by an unprecedented, nearly $80,000,000,000, infusion of new funds." His amendment was rejected 50-50.

4. 87,000 new IRS hires: Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz suggested striking the $80 billion "slush fund for the Internal Revenue Service to prevent the hiring of 87,000 new Internal Revenue Service employees that will surveil and audit the private account information and transaction data of innocent Americans and small businesses." Democrats shot it down 50-50.

5. War on Coal: Alabama Republican Sen. Richard Shelby offered an amendment to "end the president's War on Coal through the approval of coal leases," which was also rejected 50-50.

6. Pregnancy programs limited to females: Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio proposed an amendment to limit federal pregnancy programs to biological females that was defeated by Democrats 50-50.

7. Border barriers: Alaska Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan introduced an amendment designed to "replace the funding for the Office of the Chief Readiness Support Officer with a $500,000,000 appropriation for the construction or improvement of primary pedestrian fencing and barriers along the southwest border." Senate Democrats sunk the amendment 50-50.

8. Ban on strategic oil reserve sales to China: Cruz also proposed an amendment that would have prevented the U.S. government from selling oil from the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve to China. While the amendment failed to garner the 60 votes needed to pass, moderate Democratic Sens. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.), Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.), and Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) supported the amendment in the 54-46 vote. Each of these senators is locked in a tight reelection race.

9. Medicare coverage for dental, hearing, and vision: Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who caucuses with Senate Democrats, proposed an amendment to "provide coverage for dental and oral health care, hearing care, and vision care under the Medicare program." It was rejected overwhelmingly in a bipartisan vote, 97-3.

10. Civilian Climate Corps: Sanders also proposed creating a Civilian Climate Corps, which was part of the original multitrillion Build Back Better Act. Every senator other than Sanders voted against it, including Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Ed Markey, who has been a vocal supporter of creating a Civilian Climate Corps.

Republicans predicted that the Democrats will pay a political price in the midterm elections for pushing the massive spending package through.

"Democrats will pay the price in November for raising taxes on families during a recession," Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said in a statement.

The Democrat-led House is set to come back into session this week to consider the legislation. House GOP Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik of New York said the bill is going to worsen inflation.

"Democrats' radical spending bill will raise taxes and crush hardworking families and small businesses at a time when Americans can least afford it," she said in a statement. "While every American family is already suffering from historic inflation as a direct result of reckless spending by one party Democrat rule in Washington, Democrats are doubling down on their failed agenda to spend billions more and increase inflation."

VOTE REPUBLICAN AND STOP THE COMMUNIST PARTY AND USING THE DOJ AND FBI AS A HIT SQUAD LIKE NORTH KOREA, CHINA, ADOLPH HITLER SO MANY OTHER CORRUPTED COUNTRIES HAVE DONE AND STILL ARE DOING

Again . It’s not our fault , that trump lost . It’s not our fault he took home classified materials for the White House . One might think if your smart enough to become the President of the United States . You would be smart enough not to call the state of Georgia . And ask for 11,780 , votes . On a Recorded call . All presidential calls are recorded I think .

That fool went out on election night . And declared victory . Without knowing who actually won . We heard the drunken Rudy . The disgraced New York major . Recommend this to trump . He knew in advance . He would lose the election . The campaign told him that night after Arizona was called for Biden. He had no chance for reelection . That he would loose .

If I were a US congressman . And I had participated in a plan to replace the electors from my state . With a false slate of fake electors . The entire plot blew up . And now a congressional committee. Is investigating , all the people involved . Including myself . I would take the advice , of the White House attorney’s . Find the best criminal defense attorney you can find . Because , you are going to need it .
