Covid Deaths Drive Life Insurance & Annuity Benefits to Record Highs in 2021

Washington, CA...Nearly $200 billion in life insurance and annuity benefits provided families and retirees with financial security.   New data from the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) shows that life insurance companies paid $100 billion to beneficiaries of life insurance policies and $97.7 billion to annuity holders in 2021, both record highs for a single year.

Life insurance payments increased 10.8% over 2020. In that year, payments increased 15.4% over 2019, the largest year-to-year increase since the Influenza Epidemic of 1918. This data is included in the 2022 ACLI Life Insurers Fact Book released today.

“For the second year in a row, life insurance benefit payments increased by double-digit percentages. And for the second year in a row life insurance companies stepped up to the challenge while also paying record-high annuity benefits, which typically go to retirees,” said Andrew Melnyk, ACLI Vice President, Research & Chief Economist. “It is a testament to life insurers’ ability to prepare for any eventuality and deliver on their promises to consumers at all times.”

The Fact Book also showed that life insurers remained financially strong in 2021. A common measure of industry strength – state regulators’ risk-based capital (RBC) ratio – remained above 400% in 2021, indicating life insurers overall maintain more than twice the amount of capital required.

With the threat of Covid-19 still on consumers’ minds, people continued to seek life insurance coverage, Melnyk said. Nearly 46 million life insurance policies were purchased in 2021, a 6.1% increase over 2020, he said, and total life insurance coverage reached a record $21.2 trillion.

“In uncertain times, people look for sources of stability and peace of mind,” Melnyk added. “Conservative investments and underwriting, and strict state laws governing solvency and capitalization, ensure that the financial security life insurers offer will always be there when needed. That is why millions of Americans turned to life insurers in 2021 to protect their families and secure their financial futures.”

The American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) is the leading trade association driving public policy and advocacy on behalf of the life insurance industry. 90 million American families rely on the life insurance industry for financial protection and retirement security. ACLI’s member companies are dedicated to protecting consumers’ financial wellbeing through life insurance, annuities, retirement plans, long-term care insurance, disability income insurance, reinsurance, and dental, vision and other supplemental benefits. ACLI’s 280 member companies represent 94 percent of industry assets in the United States.

Lib/ Dem politicians still try to make little kids and infants get a vaccine that may cause years of health problems
Posted on: 2022-11-29 06:40:31   By: Anonymous

Dr Fauci had emailed friends on COVID and said wearing a mask was useless in spreading COVID-19 and doesn't protect those wearing a mask, but so many people put 100% trust in what the current administration says. Amazing isn't it, to put blind trust in politicians who only look at the middle class and poor as a vote. That's why so many in the masses are called sheep, their ignorance is astounding and they seem to be too dense or simpletons to even try to get the truth for their own good.

" The earliest demographics to get COVID-19 vaccines, such as healthcare workers, reported a surprisingly high rate of serious complications from them, according to data the CDC turned over under court order.

Among the 10 million-plus users of the agency's v-safe active monitoring smartphone app through July — 8.5 million of whom signed up between December 2020 and April 2021, before all adults were eligible for COVID vaccines — nearly 8% said they required medical care after receiving the vaccines"

    Simpletons.
Glad you think for yourself. So do others.
Vaccines may cause health concerns later on. A virus will cause health concerns now. Masks and vaccines slow the spread. If you don't believe this, that's your belief.
Measles, polio, small pox. These were preventable diseases as well. Covid and the variants spread rapidly. Many have died.
Some believe natural immunity is the best way to fight these viruses. Others don't.
My point is, I listen to the experts. Like taking my car to a trained mechanic, I feel that's what's best for my car in the long run.
If I'm a simpleton for believing the same with my health, so be it.

^You must understand. Those "simpletons" you speak of are also Trump supporters. Guaranteed 94.4% of them vote for Trump & his preferred accomplices in politics. And there are lots of them here in Calaverabama. The "simpletons" that is. Just look around Angles, Valley Springs, Copper, RRF, SA, etc.

          Pretty much sums it up.
Many believe that to MAGA, we need to go back to the 1950s mentality of putting America first.
I can remember being a young child and standing in line with classmates to receive immunization shots. Back then nobody questioned it.
Now, it's considered our right to question government mandates.
MAGA? Not when it comes to immunization. My body my choice.
          Except for abortion.

And what would the death numbers have been with Trump as President?
            Nobody knows.
Believe who you want to believe.
I think the number of covid infections would have been higher without the mask mandates and the vaccinations.
I have alot of older friends that masked up and got vaccinated. They are still alive.
I have a few friends that masked up and vaccinated, and died of covid infection.
I also have older friends that didn't mask or vaccinate. Some died, some are still around.
Bottom line. We all have choices to make.

And the choice not to mask up or vaccinate likely killed others. So much for being a "patriot."

The deaths were going to happen and it didn't matter who was/is the president.

The biggest problem is those that point finger and want to blame others instead of taking a look at what they can do to fix things.

Articles and statistics like this are meaningless for many in Calaveras who don't bother with health insurance much less life insurance.
