Valley Springs, CA... Verna "Sue" Cole 1944 ~ 2023. Verna "Sue" Cole. August 21, 1944 ~ January 14, 2024. 79 Years Old. Verna Sue Cole, 79, passed away peacefully at Dignity Health - Mark Twain Medical Center, on January 14, 2024. She was born to Ernest and Courtney Puryear on August 21, 1944 in Missouri.



Sue was preceded in death by her parents and her sister "Katie" Sharon Kay. She leaves behind her sister Vivan Alman and brother Melvin Puryear, she also leaves behind her son Herbert Cole and daughter in law Bridget McLaughlin Cole, granddaughter Jolene Cole, and grandson Cody DeBelle of Valley Springs, CA; her daughter Melissa Burton and son-in-law Mike Burton; Grandsons Dustin Burton and Daniel Burton, daughter-in-law Christine and great grandson Elijah of Seaside, CA. Granddaughter Samantha Naicker and grandson Reggie Naicker and great granddaughters Aubree and Maddison of Hollister, CA.

Her feisty spirit and unconditional and absolute love will be so deeply missed. She was a strong and independent woman who worked nonstop to provide for her family. She was also a second mom to many who knew hers was the house they could go to for unconditional love and support.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
