Parks Master Plan Community Meetings Start Tonight! Your Input is Needed!

San Andreas, CA...Outdoor spaces and amenities for all ages are valuable and essential to Calaveras County. In September of 2023 Calaveras County contracted with O’Dell Engineering to create the County’s first Parks Master Plan. A Parks Master Plan provides an abundance of benefits to a community including, but not limited to; assessing current and future recreation needs of the community, establishing a long-range vision, prioritizing capital improvement projects, strategizing to fill gaps and reduce redundancies within the parks systems, building community support, promoting new ideas and partnerships, and encouraging new opportunities for future development.

The Parks Master Plan will encompass the following County parks and facilities:

Alex Quinones Park, San Andreas (leased to San Andreas Recreation and Park District -SARPD)
Nielson Park, San Andreas (leased to San Andreas Recreation and Park District – SARPD)
Mountain Ranch Community Park (leased to Mountain Ranch Community Club – MRCC)
Murphys Park, Murphys (leased to Murphys Community Club – MCC)
Rail Road Flat Community Center, Rail Road Flat (leased to Blue Mountain Community Renewal Council – BMCRC)
A comprehensive plan is backed by the community. Calaveras’ Parks Master planning will engage residents throughout the County through several community meetings and an online survey. The goal of the community meetings and online survey is to analyze the current programs and facilities and to consider the community needs and aspirations.

Stop all the excessive taxing, bulding and citifying of our rural country home

None of this should be entertained, addressed, planned or any moneys spent while the urgently and humanely needed Animal Shelter is once again put on the back burner (since 1970.)

Get rid of these bored excessive county employees worming their ways into our rural communities trying to make them just like the disastrous cities they helped to destroy, then have ran from.

Our rural parks need to remain just that, rural. We have enough of them. No overbuilding in or on them, keeping them natural peaceful places. Dogs should be kept out for the safety and cleanliness of the people using the park. There are plenty of sports courts and playgrounds accessible at all our schools. Plenty of buildings and grounds already available throughout the county for community events when needed.

We also have plenty of state and BLM lands that can be used for recreating.Stop the needless planning, building, hiring and spending scam here............ People of the county should be voting at election time on this!
