Camp Connell Resident Found Deceased Along Hwy 4 ~By John Hamilton
Arnold, CA...Calaveras County Sheriff's Sgt. Dave Seawell has just finished the official release on the tragic death of 38 year old Kevin Harris of Camp Connell that we covered yesterday. "On Sunday afternoon a hiker found a dead body on Hwy 4 west of Big Trees State Park. The hiker found the body at approximately 12:30 in the afternoon and immediately called the Sheriff s Office...
 
Investigators responded to the scene where they found the body of Kevin Harris (38) of Camp Connell approximately 30 feet off of the highway. Investigators do not suspect foul play.
An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of the death."
When we spoke with investigators on scene they hypothesized that that Mr. Harris may have slipped and struck his head on a rock. The blow may have rendered him unconscious. With the cold night temps on Saturday Night hypothermia may have also been a factor.
This is just speculation pending autopsy results.
Our thoughts and prayers to his family. A life cut short at 38 is a very hard thing to accept.
