Ironstone Presents Gershwin, Remembrance and Discovery, Performed by Richard Glazier
Murphys, CA....Ironstone welcomes Richard Glazier for a dinner and his performance of Gershwin-Remembrance and Discovery, Saturday, November 29, 2008. Starting off with a champagne reception at 7 p.m. and a Filet Mignon Dinner at 7:30 p.m. the concert will take place in Ironstone’s Alhambra Music Room at 8:30 p.m.....

Richard Glazier is an award winning pianist trained in the classics. Glazier earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in piano performance from Indiana University School of Music and a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the Cleveland Institute of Music. In 1996, in celebration of the George and Ira Gershwin’s Centennial, he began performing a one-man, multimedia concert program, Gershwin-Remembrance and Discovery, the program he will perform at Ironstone.
Weaving stories, film clips and piano performances, Glazier’s programs are entertaining, educational and inspiring. Glazier’s love for the Gershwin’s music began when he was 9 years old, when discovering a recording of Rhapsody in blues in his Aunt’s collection. She encouraged him to get what he could about George Gershwin from the library and even write a fan letter to Ira Gershwin. Ira Gershwin responded to Glazier’s letter and they corresponded for over 3 years, which culminated in an invitation to Ira Gershwin’s home.
This will be the first time Richard Glazier has performed at Ironstone Vineyards.
Tickets are $65 for adults and $30 for children 12 years and under.
