One-Way Traffic Control on Hwy 4 for Prescribed Burn Near Big Trees State Park
Arnold, CA...The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform one-way traffic control on State Route 4 (SR-4) from Big Trees Park Entrance to Golden Torch Drive near Dorrington for prescribed burn operations.
Work will occur beginning on Thursday, June 15, from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., and on Friday, June 16, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes whenever possible.
This work is scheduled to take place as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment, and/or materials and construction related issues.

Grand Opera Concert Featuring Opera Star Karis Tucker at Bret Harte Theater
Angels Camp, CA...Internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano, Karis Tucker, comes to Calaveras County for just one night to sing on the stage of the Bret Harte Theater in Angels Camp. Currently in her fourth season at Deutsche Oper Berlin, Ms. Tucker also recently made her debut at the world renowned Glyndebourne Festival in the role of Thurza in The Wreckers by Ethel Smyth, a role which she reprised at the BBC Proms, as well as with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester, under the baton of Robin Ticciati. In 2018 she was a Gerdine Young Artist at Opera Theatre of St. Louis, and a 2019 Apprentice Artist at Des Moines Metro Opera. She was honored as a 2017 and 2018 Ohio District winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, winner of the 2019 Curt Engelhorn Scholarship awarded by the Opera Foundation in New York, and was also the 2017 recipient of the Seybold-Russell Award in the CCM Opera Scholarship Competition.

Angels Camp, CA...Join us for the 2023 Angels Camp Certified Farmers Market season opener! Presented by the Angels Camp Business Association. This will be our 18th season and due to the upcoming renovation of Utica Park, we will be gathering at the Angels Camp Museum each Friday night. We are so excited about this great partnership for the 2023 season.
This year marks a farm-focused reboot of the market with the addition of new farmers as well as even more local artisanal foods.
We are excited to be an even more consistent local marketplace that brings local fresh food to the community.
Each week you will also find locally made craft goods, live music and our Market Bar.
Some items to note:
• Parking is available next door at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and on the street.
•The Market entrance will be located at the gate between the church parking lot and the museum.
•Outside food and drink are not permitted inside the market, with the exception of 1 water bottle per person.
•Coolers/ice chests are not permitted inside the market.
