Calaveras Genealogical Society's monthly meeting will be held Tues, March 11th from 10-12 noon at San Andreas Public Library in the Chesebrough Room. Wendy Black, our former librarian will show us many types of non-internet resources: county histories, gazetteers, city directories, church and Bible records, etc. that are great aids in your research. 02:00 PM Getting To Know Your iPad Is SMUG March Meeting Topic
Getting to know and love your iPad will be the central theme when the Sierra Macintosh Users Group (SMUG) gathers for its Tuesday, March 11 meeting of the Sierra Macintosh Users Group (SMUG) to be held in the community room of the Murphys Library, 480 Park Lane, adjacent to Murphys Park starting at 2 p.m.

Norm Milsner, one of the founders of SMUG and a long-time Mac devotee, will share his experiences, having purchased his first iPad. He will demonstrate what can be accomplished with this popular addition to the Apple family. Included in the presentation will be an exploration of interesting iPad apps.

Milsner presented a similar program during SMUG’s September meeting In Arnold. It was so well received that he decided to share it with the Murphys audience.

As always, the meeting will not be restricted to the main topic. Milsner, and other SMUG members, will attempt to answer any computer-related questions.

SMUG meets the second Tuesday of each month. Meetings are open to everyone and there is no charge to attend. The organization exists to keep Mac users abreast of the latest developments and to address the nagging questions that arise from time to time. Its goal is to take the mystery out of computers and to enable members to take advantage of all the features their Macs possess.

SMUG was founded in 1995 and is a non-profit organization run completely by volunteers. Annual dues are $15. For more information visit the SMUG website at www.SierraMacintoshUsersGroup.org or call 795-3798 or 728-9012.
