Indoor Workshop For All Levels of Artists

Cost: $85.00

SPRING FLOWERS with artist Tracy Lewis. This is a one day watercolor workshop, in which participants will learn to paint vibrant and luminous flowers in watercolor using wet into wet and glazing techniques. The focus will be on keeping colors pure and fresh using a limited palette. Participants may follow along step by step, or work from their own image.

Tracy Lewis teaches workshops throughout Northern California and the Western United States. She works primarily in transparent watercolor and is a purest in her approach to the medium. Layering luminous transparent glazes of pure hue gives her work a candy coat of Easter-like color. Her work is featured throughout fine art galleries in the region.

Petroglyphe Gallery is located at 8317 Main Street, Mokelumne Hill, California, two blocks off of Highway 49, across the street from the historic Hotel Legér. The gallery is open Thursdays through Saturdays 11:30 am - 5:30 pm and Sundays 11:30 am - 4:00 pm.
10:00 AM Calaveras Gem & Mineral Show 2014
Gem & Jewelry Show & Rock Show. Dates of Show March 22 10-5 and March 23 Sunday 10-4 2014. Admission $4.00; children 12 or younger admitted free if accompanied by a paying adult. Jewelry gemstones, beads, fossils, meteorites, rocks, tools, minerals, snack bar (Lions Club), kids' area, silent auction, raffle, door prizes. Free Parking and shuttle service. For a fun day in Gold Country, come to our show with many beautiful display cases and demonstrators showing you how to make your own jewelry or how to chip an arrowhead. There are many other local areas to discover nearby. Many other area attractions: Iron Stone Winery and unique shops in downtown Angels Camp and Murphy's a must on your list of area interests. Show hosted by the Calaveras Gem and Mineral Society.

Available at no charge (donations gratefully accepted) on Saturday mornings at 10am leaving from the Old Timers Museum. Please call to confirm dates and times or make arrangements for large groups.
12:30 PM Guided Hike, Big Trees State Park - 209-795-3840
Free, however, entrance fee $10 ($12 on holiday weekends) per carload applies. Guided hikes available year round. When the snow covers the ground they become guided snowshoe walks every Saturday at 1pm. Snowshoes are provided free, first come first served. No reservations are allowed. Check in at the Warming Hut no later than 12:30 pm.
