Sonora, CA...We’ll see you at Truvy’s Beauty Shop where anyone who’s anyone gets their hair done. Steel Magnolias is an American favorite featuring a cast of sassy southern ladies whose hearts are as big as their hairdos.

Truvy’s salon is Chinquapin, Louisiana’s go-to place for a beauty fix with a hearty side of gossip. Along with her overeager assistant Annelle, Truvy pampers her small-town clients with hairdos, manicures and all kinds of unsolicited advice. Anybody who’s anybody is a regular: There’s the doting M’Lynn and her soon-to-be-married daughter Shelby, the moody Ouiser and the well-to-do widow Clairee. Through witty banter and wisecracks, this hodgepodge group of women form friendships as strong as steel, which they are forced to lean on when tragedy strikes.
Steel Magnolias is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York.
Steel Magnolias previews at the East Sonora Theatre at 6:30pm on April 14 and 15, and 2pm on April 16. The show opens April 16 at 7pm. Regular performance times are Wednesdays at 12pm, Thursdays at 2pm, Fridays at 7pm, Saturdays at 2pm and 7pm, and Sundays at 2pm through May 15.

The Big HCO Sledfest is This Weekend at Bear Valley!!
Bear Valley, CA...It’s not all over once the lifts stop turning! Come and join us for the second annual HCO SledFest this April 22nd – 24th right here at Bear Valley Resort. HCO SledFest is a social gathering and event for snowmobilers of all ages and skill levels. We welcome you to come for the day or camp out in your RV for the duration of the event.
Tickets:
Day tickets will be FREE at the ticket window. You need to pick one up to enter the grounds for liability reasons. So please make sure to pick up your tickets for all three days. We will ask you to leave if you’re on the mountain without a proper lift ticket.
Parking:
We are pleased to offer both day and night parking right at the base of Bear Valley Resort. We’ve created parking bundles so you can pre-pay everything upfront at our parking kiosk upon arrival. Once you pay and pick up your parking ticket, please place this on your dashboard for the duration of your time at the resort.
Package:
Non-Towing cars & trucks – $55
Vehicle WITH Trailer or RV – $85
Simplified:
Cars & Trucks – $20 per day
RV / Trailer w Tow Vehicle- $30 per day
Food & Beverage Package
For this year’s event, we’ve put together a package for all your meals. The SledFest Meal Pass costs $140 and comes with six meals over Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Buying a SledFest Meal Pass will also give you a 10% discount on all other purchases at the resort *excluding alcohol*.
We will also offer the option to pay for meals individually, though you’ll save more by buying the meal pass!
MONTE WOLFE
Throughout the weekend, we will have our on-site bar Monte Wolfe Saloon open, where we serve craft cocktails as well as beer and wine. The Monte Wolfe Saloon will be open Friday evening and from 10:00 AM onward on Saturday and Sunday!
ACTIVITIES
Friday night film premiere in the theatre from 7-10 PM followed by a night ride from 10-11 PM.
Saturday hill climbing, drag racing, snowbike races and beacon training with avalanche awareness.

NDF FOUNDATION AVALANCHE TRAINING WORKSHOP
Snowmobiles apply 2.5 to 5 times more stress on the snowpack than a skier or rider. The stress bulb of the snowmobile reaches deeper into the snowpack. Additionally, snowmobilers can cover much more ground on a given day on our snowmobiles effectively applying that stress to more areas. With the increased power and capabilities of snowmobiles and snow bikes, motorized travelers are able to climb higher and further than human-powered backcountry travelers. This puts motorized travelers at a greater risk of entering avalanche terrain unaware of their surroundings and the potential dangers in the backcountry. Avalanche education is essential for motorized backcountry travel!
