All Day Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF) Announces Annual Competitive Grants Period for 202
Angels Camp, CA...The Calaveras Community Foundation is seeking applicants for its 2022 competitive grant process. Any project submitted by a qualified applicant will be considered. A wide variety of projects is being sought, but because of new funding sources available this year, special emphasis will also be placed on applications addressing food scarcity, mental health issues and substance abuse education and prevention.

Non-profit groups, schools and government agencies in Calaveras County are encouraged to focus on that special project that could make a difference in people’s lives, or make changes benefitting the county or groups.

The application period is from July 1, 2022 through July 31, 2022. Applications will only be accepted via email: info@calaverascommunityfoundation.org

Complete details, application guidelines and fillable forms are now available in the “Grants and Scholarships” area of the CCF website: www.calaverascommunityfoundation.org

The generosity of individual donors and corporate partners allow CCF to continue to fund viable projects benefitting our county residents. Since its inception in 2000, CCF has provided more than $2,800,000 in competitive grants, scholarships and assistance.

To learn more about the Foundation or to make a donation, please call us at (209) 736-1845 or visit our website: www.calaverascommunityfoundation.org

The festival currently begins on the second-to-last Friday in July and ends three Sundays later, drawing a total audience of roughly four thousand attendees. The festival strives to appeal to a wide demographic by presenting a diverse variety of artists and styles of music over the years, including classical, rock, country, blues, folk, and jazz. The concerts are held in a tent erected to serve as a concert hall, equipped with a stage large enough to hold a symphony orchestra.

Watch this video to hear Mr. Mickelthwate himself give you a sneak preview into all the excitement for 2022’s festival.

All Day CSTARS Presents Annie July 22 - 24 in Angels Camp
Angels Camp, CA...Based on the popular comic strip, Annie tells the extraordinary story of a little orphan who ends up in the lap of luxury with Depression-era billionaire Oliver Warbucks, and his secretary, Grace Farrell. Unlike most of the other children at Miss Hannigan's orphanage, spunky Annie believes that her parents are still alive and will one day return to claim her. So when Mr. Warbucks offers to adopt her, she asks the most powerful man in America to help find her real mom and dad instead, and he agrees. Warbucks' whopping reward for Annie's parents attracts the attention of con artists Rooster, Lily, and the wicked Miss Hannigan, who hatch a plot to kidnap Annie and take the $50,000 reward. But don't fret: this classic family musical has a happy ending for Annie, Grace, Daddy Warbucks, and the whole gang.

The stage went dark for a few years. But...the sun will come out tomorrow! Join 30+ talented CSTARS actors as they present their first performance back from the COVID shutdown and come support the arts in Calaveras County.

One weekend only! July 22, 2022 - July 24, 2022

Annie is presented through special arrangements with Musical Theater International. 423 West 55th Street, New York City, NY, 10019. www.mtishows.com

07:00 PM Tennessee River – The Alabama Tribute Opens the Bear Valley Music Festival
Bear Valley, CA...Kicking off this year’s full festival line up is the red-hot Alabama tribute band, Tennessee River, commanding audiences with powerful 7-part harmonies, dynamite stage presence, and danceable classics. A perfect celebration of summer!

Playing to both large and small audiences and venues alike, even prior to their incarnation as Tennessee River, the band has consistently proven their talent and professionalism over a very broad and eclectic range of musical styles. Alex Ligertwood, front man of the 70’s super group Santana, has stated “These guys have got to be, hands down, THE most talented group of musicians I’ve ever played with that wasn’t yet signed to a major label. Your harmonies are incredible…”

Tennessee River was  formed in January of 2002 with the idea of bringing back and paying  tribute to one of the most influential and vocally dynamic country bands  of our time – Alabama.  Receiving over 150 industry awards including 8 country music  “Entertainer of the Year” honors, 2 Grammys, 2 People’s Choice Awards,  “Artist of the Decade” recognition by the Academy of Country Music,  “Country Group of the Century” honors from the RIAA, induction into the  Country Music Hall of Fame and their very own star on the “Hollywood  Walk of Fame,” there is no doubt that Alabama has become an icon in  music history. Given that kind of illustrious track record, this is why Tennessee River  was born—to spotlight an incredible band that really to this day has  never been recognized by any tribute project to the degree they should be.
