Calaveras Arts Council's Music in the Parks Presents The Magnolia Rhythm Trio West Point, CA...Music in the Parks presents The Magnolia Rhythm Trio. West Point Elementary School. West Point August 1, 2018, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. No admission fee or cover charge. Bring blankets, low-back chairs, dinner, cool drinks and yourselves. But please no alcohol or smoking; the school is a substance-free zone. The Magnolia Rhythm Trio is an Americana/Folk/Bluegrass based group focusing on tight harmonies. They choose music based on how it touches their hearts.
Bringing a rich diversity of music from Gospel hymns, Americana and bluegrass to traditional folk, this trio has often been equated to "angels singing" by their responsive and captivated listeners. Their greatest gift is heartfelt and impeccable harmonies.
With traditional renditions of standards like "I'll Fly Away" and "In the Mountains," singers Debbie Patterson, Tonja Peterson, and Sammy Leverone can weave a dreamy sound of sunlight sifting through pines. But they can also sharpen that sound to an edge in Hank Williams-style renditions of "I'm Wearing a Hole in a Honky Tonk Floor." It's worth the drive out to West Point to hear them.
