11:00 AM Calaveras CEO Teresa Hitchcock to Headline August S.I.R Meeting
Arnold, Ca - SIR, Inc. Branch 152 will hold its August 2023 meeting in the Our Lady of the Sierra Catholic Church located at 1301 Linebaugh Road, in Arnold, CA. Our August 15th meeting will begin at 11:00 a.m. and includes a social hour and lunch, followed by a guest speaker.


SIR, Inc. is a California non-profit organization that provides social activities for men over 50 whose mission is: “To improve the lives of our members through fun activities and events while making Friends for Life.” The parent organization was formed in 1958 in San Mateo and the Arnold Branch was formed in 1989. There are currently around 90 Branches in Central and Northern California and more than 10,000 members from Bakersfield to Mt. Shasta and Lake Tahoe to San Francisco. The Arnold Branch has 104 members who normally meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month for a luncheon at various locations in Arnold, CA.

Our speaker for April is Teresa Hitchcock. Teresa is the Chief Executive Officer for Calaveras County, responsible for implementing the Board of Supervisors strategic direction as well as managing the day-to-day administration and service delivery functions of the County. She will talk about the County’s Budget and Strategic Plan.

Prior to joining the Calaveras County government team, Ms. Hitchcock worked for 22 years at Kern County where she served in various roles including as an Analyst in Budget and Finance, Director of Policy and Administration, Director of the Board of Trade, Director of Airports, and as the Assistant County Administrative Officer over Economic and Workforce Development.

Ms. Hitchcock has a deep commitment to creating collaborative partnerships with diverse stakeholders to achieve common goals. Career highlights include initiating a regional economic development effort through the establishment of a public-private collaborative focused on driving economic diversification, growth, inclusion, and prosperity. Hitchcock holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from California State University, Bakersfield.

In addition to normal monthly luncheons, the Arnold SIR Branch offers the following activities to its members: Golfing, Ladies Day Lunches, RV outings, July BBQ, Dinner Dance and more. Ideas for new activities are encouraged and adopted. Visitors and potential new members are welcome to sample the activities and attend luncheons. 08:00 PM Candlelight Vigil for Chase Lozano on August 15th
San Andreas, CA...Our community recently lost a dear friend and classmate. Please join us on Tuesday, August 15 for a candlelight vigil in memory of Chase Lozano on the Calaveras High Football Field at 8:00 p.m. There will be T-Shirts and Bracelets sold in Chase’s memory. Profits will be donated to the family for funeral and travel expenses.
