08:30 AM - 10:00 AM Career Exploration Workshop Held in Calaveras on Tues., September 10th
San Andreas, CA....A workshop to explore possible new career options is being held at the Calaveras office of Mother Lode Job Training on Tuesday, September 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The workshop is free but pre-registration is required.

“Looking at new careers can seem frightening,” said workshop leader, Ernie LaCarra-Babor, a career counselor with Mother Lode Job Training. “We will share methods of self assessment that help guide you. It takes little time and yet shows you what you may have been overlooking.”
LaCarra-Babor believes that these career assessment tools open many other doors different from the career they have been pursuing to date.

“This seminar will help match experience and skills to ultimate career goals,” LaCarra-Babor said. “The result is you learn about yourself and where to put your talents to work.”
The Career Exploration Workshop will be held at Job Connection Calaveras located at 700 Mountain Ranch Road, Ste. A in San Andreas. Space is limited and reservations can be made by calling 754-4242. Auxiliary aids and services are available on request to individuals with disabilities.

07:00 PM Getting to Know Your iPad is SMUG September Topic
Arnold, CA..Getting to know, and love, your iPad will be the central theme when the Sierra Macintosh Users Group (SMUG) gathers for its Tuesday, September 10 meeting that will begin at 7 p.m. in the assembly room of the Ebbetts Pass Fire District, 1037 Blagen Rd., just off Highway 4.

Norm Milsner, one of the founders of SMUG and a long-time Mac devotee, will share his experiences having purchased his first iPad. He will demonstrate what can be accomplished with this popular addition to the Apple family.
As always, the meeting will not be restricted to the main topic. Milsner, and other SMUG members, will attempt to answer any computer-related questions.

SMUG meets the second Tuesday of each month. Meetings are open to everyone and there is no charge to attend. The organization exists to keep Mac users abreast of the latest developments and to address the nagging questions that arise from time to time. Its goal is to take the mystery out of computers and to enable members to take advantage of all the features their Macs possess.

SMUG was founded in 1995 and is a non-profit organization run completely by volunteers. Annual dues are $15. For more information visit the SMUG website at www.SierraMacintoshUsersGroup.org or call 795-3798 or 728-9012.
