Children's Preschool Hour at Moke Hill Library
at the Mokelumne Hill Library on the second and fourth Friday of each month from 10:30-11:30 for a Children's Preschool Hour of fun and activities, including stories and literacy, arts/crafts, music and motor time, and a small snack at the end of the session. Free Poetry Workshop
A free poetry workshop from 3-4 p.m., led by Monika Rose, will be part of an Open House at the Mountain Ranch Resource Center on Friday, October 14. Monika will also read from her new book of poems. The abstract art of Gary Rose will be on display. There will be food and drinks available at the Resource Center next to the park in Mountain Ranch.

Live Music at Alchemy, Murphy
Every Friday, Alchemy features jazz standards by Matt Cullen on our patio from 5:30-8 pm. Matt will play with an "enhanced rhythm" section and will sometimes be joined by guests. The music is free; all we ask is that you call 728-0700 for reservations and that you eat some dinner. Feel free to dance if the mood strikes you.

Grover Anderson's CD Release Party
We will be gathering at the Newsome-Harlow Courtyard (403 Main St., Murphys) to celebrate the release of Grover Anderson's second studio album, "Tourniquet." The music starts Friday, October 14th at 7pm. There will be CDs ($5), food, and wine available for purchase, all ages are welcome.
Grover Anderson is a Murphys native who has performed up and down the state of California. Heavily influenced by folk, country, and singer-songwriters like Josh Ritter & Jason Mraz, he brings a high-energy show of original and cover songs that will get your heart beating and your booty shaking. He is joined by Eddie Castro on percussion and blues harp.
