11:30 AM ARNOLD SIR Branch 152 MEETING ON TUESDAY October 15, 2013, at 11:30a
Arnold, CA...Arnold SIR (Sons in Retirement, Branch 152) will hold its monthly luncheon meeting at Snow Flake lodge, 2255 Blue Lake Springs Dr, Arnold, CA. The Speaker for this meeting will be Stephen Segiel, Calaveras County Interim Chief Probation Officer, Stephen has been with the Calaveras County Probation Dept. for 12 years. He will be giving remarks about the Probation Department. The County is currently recruiting for a new Chief Probation Officer, after the retirement of the former Chief Teri Hall in March 2013...

Probation Officer, Tara Johnson is currently supervising the new “AB109” law, population of offenders and overseeing the daily operations of the Day Reporting Center in San Andreas. She will be joining Stephen to discuss the Bill and effect on Calaveras County’s management of the Program.

AB 109 realignment is a statewide effort to reduce prison populations by transferring many prisoners back to county jails and to probation departments for supervision. In total, this means about 110,000 prisoners must be taken out of the state’s prison system and returned to counties

AB 109 requires the release of Specific Non-Violent State Prisoners to Counties, for a period of release in the community with reporting to the Probation Department and other restrictions; including the use of electronic ankle monitors.
