Murphys Community Club's Octoberfest! Bocce Ball, Auction & Corn Hole!
Murphys, CA...Saturday Oct 8, 11am – 5pm, Bocce Tournament, Silent Auction & Corn Hole Tournament! All proceeds from this year’s tournament will be going to the expansion of the park area. We have been working to expand the park area to the creek side of the bocce courts. This plan will include improving that entire area so that families can come and enjoy a picnic next to the creek or grill some lunch. Each table is designed to have a grilling area and comfortable place to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

$50 per team, 40 teams maximum

Dog and Cat Rabies Vaccination & Microchipping Clinic
San Andreas, CA...TODAY AT 9 AM – 12 PM FREE Dog and Cat Rabies Vaccination & Microchipping Clinic. Take advantage of our last clinic of the year! If you have a dog or cat in need of a Rabies vaccine or microchip, come on down to see us October 8th! This clinic is open and free to all Calaveras County residents only. Just bring your dog on a leash, cat in a carrier, or both! There are no limits on number of animals you may bring. While we don't charge a dime for these services, donations are greatly appreciated and what helps us keep these services going. Cathy Gatlin, DVM will be the attending veterinarian at this clinic.
All dogs 4 months and older are required by law to be vaccinated for Rabies and licensed in Calaveras County. The Animal Services office will be open to assist with licensing.

Gold Rush Days in Columbia are the 2nd Saturday Every month – 1:00pm – 4:00pm
Columbia, CA...Reserve the second Saturday of every month for Gold Rush Days at Columbia State Historic Park. You’ll get to see inside special exhibits, stores and residences not regularly open to the public. Columbia’s Gold Rush Days is a chance to explore the historic town of Columbia and see it come alive with living history. Throughout town you will discover park docents interpreting what it looked, felt, and sounded like during the California Gold Rush.
Docents in period attire will provide lots of information on the structure of their featured building, nature of its business and equipment, contents of store merchandise, or interior décor of family homes, along with history of the times for visitors. If you’re lucky, the gambling table will be set up on the boardwalk for everyone to try their hand at betting against a mining camp gambler.

In recent years, every Senior mentee has graduated from high school, and many have gone on to college.
