Mokelumne Hill Christmas Bazaar! Saturday, November 23
Mokelumne Hill, CA...Mokelumne Hill Christmas Bazaar! Saturday, November 23, 2013 10am to 5pm at theTown Hall in Moke Hill. Local Artists, homemade items, kids crafts, lunch, 50/50 raffle, magic show, & santa! We are raising funds and collecting food for the Calaveras Food Bank. Any child that brings a non-perishable food item will get to do the kids crafts for free! This is a great family day! A way to kick off the holiday season and great way to get ahead on your Christmas Shopping!
We are also looking for performers...we have a great stage and would hate to have it empty! Anyone who would like to come and sing, play music, dance, read poetry...contact Nancy Jauch at (209) 286-0607 and all vendors interested in getting a spot, call Lee Hess at (209) 286-1393.

November Master Gardener's Open Garden Day
Calaveras County Master Gardeners will conduct their Open Garden Day on Saturday, November 23th. There will be no plant sale. Located at the County Government Center, 891 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas, the garden will be open to the public from 10 am and close at 2pm.
Once the winter rains begin it is the season for bareroot planting and on this Open Garden Day we will concentrate both on bareroot plantings and orchard care.
Master Gardeners will answer home gardening questions as well as assist in identifying and diagnosing plant and pest problems. They can also provide key tips on how to navigate the vast resources available to you from the University of California. When the garden is not open, home gardening assistance is offered by Master Gardeners through the help line at: 209-754-2880. The public may leave a message regarding the problem and a Master Gardener will return the call.
The Demonstration Garden is a project of the Calaveras County Master Gardeners whose primary goal is to educate the public about home gardening. Proceeds from plant sales support the Master Gardener’s education programs and maintenance of the Demonstration Garden. Guided Hike, Big Trees State Park - 209-795-3840
Free, however, entrance fee $10 ($12 on holiday weekends) per carload applies. Guided hikes available year round. When the snow covers the ground they become guided snowshoe walks every Saturday at 1pm. Snowshoes are provided free, first come first served. No reservations are allowed. Check in at the Warming Hut no later than 12:30 pm.
