Murphys, CA...Please join The Ebbetts Pass Veterans Memorial District's on Veterans Day for their Veterans Celebration at the Veterans Memorial in Muphys.  Below is our photos & from last year to get you ready.   As always one of the highlights was the wonderful Veterans Day speeches and essays from 5th Graders at Albert Michelson Elementary School. The Guest Speaker was Major General Andrew Juknelis Major General Andrew J. Juknelis lives here in the Sierra Foothills. The Walking Man from Murphys Ric Ryan gave and update on Operation Mend and the over $160,000 he has raised for the cause. Great music from the Calaveras Community Band and beautiful solos of the Star Spangled Banner and God Bless America.

05:00 PM - 09:00 PM The 2nd Annual Calaveras Sheriff's Office Cold Case Fundraiser Dinner
Murphys, CA...Friends of the Calaveras Sheriff’s Office is hosting a fundraiser for the Cold Case Task Force with the intent to fund costly forensic DNA analysis for unidentified human remains within Calaveras County. A full-course dinner will be served which includes Tri-tip, Chicken Marsala, scalloped potatoes, seasonal vegetables, green salad and dessert.


Funds will be used to support forensic DNA research to identify missing and unidentified victims of homicide and other violent crimes.

05:30 PM Murphys Veteran's Day Dinner at Native Sons Hall
Murphys, CA...Ruby Parlor No. 46 of the Native Daughters of the Golden West and Chispa Parlor No. 139 of the Native Sons of the Golden West are holding their annual Veterans’ Day Dinner on November 11, 2023. This year’s event will be held at the Native Sons Hall, 389 Main Street, Murphys.


The doors will open at 5:00 and festivities begin at 5:30 with a flag ceremony by Boy Scout Troop #343. A delicious pasta dinner, including wine and dessert, will be served. THIS DINNER IS FREE TO ALL VETERANS. For all others the charge is $15.

All proceeds from this event will go to veteran’s related organizations. Reservations are not necessary. For more information call Mary Kingshill at 209-743-2551.
05:30 PM West Calaveras Rotary's Veteran's Day Dinner
Valley Springs, CA...The West Calaveras Rotary is sponsoring a Veteran’s Day Dinner on November 11, 5:30 – 9:30 at the Jenny Lind Veterans Hall in Valley Springs, 300 Daphne St, Valley Springs.
