12:00 PM A Christmas Parade..Mountain Ranch Style
A Christmas Parade

Mark your calendar for Saturday, Dec. 14. A Christmas Parade in Mtn. Ranch will again be held on Washington St./Garabaldi St. in Mtn. Ranch on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 12:00 p.m. Get your entry form from either real estate offices in town, fill it out & leave it in the real estate office to be picked up before Dec. 7. Latecomers who want to be in the Parade need to call 754-4603 or 754-3232 preferably before the day of the Parade.

Join the fun by being in the Parade or showing up as the cheering crowd on the Parade path. The Calaveras High School Marching Band will highlight the Parade. We are asking everyone who comes to the Parade and those who are in it to bring some finger food to share before the Parade to the Town Hall.

Refreshments will be available for all after the Parade. Wagon rides pulled by horses will be offered. Children's Crafts will also be available in the Town Hall between 12:30 & 3:00 p.m. See flyers around town for more details and/or call 754-4603 or 754-3232. Of course, St. Nicholas, or should I say Santa Claus, will be available for the kids after the Parade by the Town Christmas Tree.

03:00 PM 2nd annual Music Fundraiser for upcountry schools
Second Annual Holiday Benefit Concert
Concert full of original tunes, Holiday songs, & more to
Inspire young passion for music.
ON December 14th 2013 from 3-6pm The Friends of Rail Road Flat School Present a Fundraiser to Benefit the Music Departments of Rail Road Flat, West Point, and Mokelumne Hill Elementary Schools. Performances by local musicians and upcoming young musicians, including Drew Phillips, Keith Evans, Blaine Woody Woods, Carl George, Bradley Fuller, Ron Brickman, Nikki Alfred, Tiger Productions, and Robert Wise with Ukulele players from all three schools.
The evening will feature a Live Auction and Bake Sale. Tax deductible donations of instruments are encouraged. The Fundraiser is being held at The Historic Mokelumne Hill Town Hall, Main Street, Mokelumne Hill, Ca. 95245. Cost is $10.00 per person – kids under 12 free.
With cuts across the board the music program has taken a large hit, the goal of this fundraiser is to keep the music program alive and thriving in these small upcountry schools. Proceeds raised will be equally distributed among the three schools and used to maintain/purchase instruments and accessories, as well as pay for instructors to teach these classes. Last year schools were able to purchase new instruments, pay for instructors, and host music appreciation days.
Monetary donations may be made to: The Friends of Rail Road Flat School PO Box 217 Rail Road Flat Ca. 95248 To Learn more about The Friends of Rail Road Flat School: www.friendsofrrfschool.org. 03:00 PM Symphony of the Sierra Concert
Columbia College’s Symphony of the Sierra boasts several new faces amidst the familiar ones, and conductor, Mic Harper, feels confident about the upcoming free concert in Dogwood at Columbia College, at 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 14th. “This season has held many pleasant surprises for me,” reports Harper, “and, the best of these has been the ongoing musical growth of the orchestra in combination with the influx of new musicians.” The startling thing has been how young these new members are. They range in age from eight to fifteen. “Bringing together any group of people to perform, while exciting, can be a daunting prospect,” says Harper, “but daring to mix such wide range of ages and skills is to jump off a musical cliff. The patience and skills of our older members has made all the difference. Thanks to the willingness and hard work of all concerned it has come to be more like flying than crashing.”

The wide-ranging repertoire promises to be a performance well worth hearing. The concert includes seasonal favorites, “Winter Wonderland and “Frosty the Snowman.” The orchestra’s string section will perform Shirl Jae Atwell’s “Drifen,” a vibrant, contemporary work for strings. The entire orchestra will play “Allemande and Bouree” by G.P. Telemann, Aaron Copland’s “Down a Country Lane,” John Barnes Chance’s “Variations on a Korean Folk Song, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Dubinushka,” and John Philip Sousa’s “Presidential Polonaise.”
05:00 PM - 08:00 PM "Zucca After Hours is open 5-8 p.m
"Zucca After Hours is open 5-8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights.

If you're looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a glass of wine on a Friday or Saturday night, the Zucca garden is your place. Because all those firepits are even better to sit by on a cool winter evening.

If the weather is yucky, no problem, we've got some nice bar seating in the Toscano room.

Oh, and we always welcome your picnic items or takeout from area restaurants should you want to make a night of it."
