All Day 46th Annual Labor Day Weekend Arts & Crafts Festival, Arnold
Arnold, CA...The 46th Annual ‘Labor Day Weekend Arts & Crafts Festival’ will be held Sat. & Sun, September 1 & 2 - in the beautiful mountain resort town of Arnold on Highway 4. Situated among the pines and redwoods, Arnold’s popular end-of-summer celebration features over 50 booths of original crafts & art of all kinds – all exhibited by the artists: Woodwork, metal sculpture, yard art, pottery, jewelry, quilts, chain-saw sculptures, soaps & spa essentials, fine art, clothing, scarves, dolls, birdhouses/feeders, fused glass plates & windchimes, hand-painted furniture, photography, kid’s toys, hats, purses, succulents, leather, – just to name a few! There’s gourmet foods to sample and face painting & henna for the kids – or ‘adult’ kids.


Continuous shows of live country/swing music by popular “Homegrown” from Modesto both days!

The Ebbett’s Pass Volunteer Fire Dptm. always serves local Calaveras County beers, and a variety of home-made, hot prepared food booths, kettlekorn, pre-packaged foods of all kinds for you gourmet chefs, and baked goodies round out the deliciousness! The Arnold Lion’s Clubs holds their all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast of ham, eggs, & pancakes both days from 7:30 - 11:00 for $9/adults; $5/kids.

The Festival runs from 10am - 5pm each day on the park-like grounds around Bristol’s Ranch House Café in downtown Arnold. Admission and parking are free, so come join the celebration!

All Day Labor Day Weekend Book Sales!
San Andreas, CA...Relax this Labor Day Weekend with a good book. BIG book sales happening all around Calaveras County at the library. On Friday and Saturday, August 31-September 1 books are on sale at the Murphys Library Branch on 480 Park Ln. For more information in Murphys – 209-728-3036.

All Day Exotic Bird Show
Starting Saturday, May 26th, 2018, repeats every week on Sunday and Saturday and holidays until Sunday, September 02, 2018 — repeats every hour, all day.

Weekends and holidays at Moaning Cavern Adventure Park, 11 AM to 4 PM, every hour. Beautiful exotic birds - they talk, sing, dance and do tricks, too. Learn about their environments, care in captivity, and conservation. Great family fun!
10:00 AM Bear Valley’s 26th Annual Triathlon is A High Sierra Labor Day Weekend Tradition
Bear Valley, CA...The picturesque setting of Alpine County, California, is the location of the exciting 26th Annual Bear Valley Triathlon. The popular central Sierra Labor Day Weekend tradition will be held on Sunday morning, September 2 (day before Labor Day Monday), at Bear Lake, in Bear Valley Village. Nestled in a beautiful mountain location, the triathlon course features a 600-yard swim (warm water, close to 70 degrees, wet suits are allowed, but not necessary); 10.5-mile bike (rolling, climbing loop course); and 3.4-mile run (rolling road). Air temperature will be approximately 70 degrees by 10:30 a.m. The triathlon will conclude with the awards ceremony, raffle, and a great barbecue.

All participants must provide and wear a swim cap for the swim and an ANSI approved bike helmet during the bike. The beautiful On Your Mark Events trophies will be awarded to the 1st overall male and female winners and the masters overall male and female finishers (ages 50 and over). The top three finishers (male and female categories) age groups in ten-year increments to 70-years-old and over, will receive engraved medals. The top male, female, and co-ed teams triathlon teams will also be awarded medals.

Entry fee includes refreshments, T-shirt, awards, raffle ticket, awards, and post-race post-race lunch with beer (for those 21 and over). Lunch is available to non-runners $10 for adults and $7 for children 12 & under.

The Bear Valley Triathlon entry fee is $80.00 advance and $85.00 race day. Team fee (three participants, registering at the same time), $200.00 advance and $220.00 race day.

Race check-in and registration will open at 8:30 a.m., followed by the start-time at 10:00 a.m.

Bear Valley Village is located on Bear Valley Road, just off of Highway 4 in Bear Valley, CA (Alpine County). For camping information, call the US Forest Service at 209-795-1381.
