Local foodies are invited to bring a dish to share showcasing their garden’s bounty, a favorite recipe or a local product they think more people should know about. Following the potluck, attendees can stay to watch the hour-long documentary Ingredients, which asks people to answer the question, “Who’s your farmer?” and features food heroes like Alice Waters among others. Find out more about the film and watch the trailer here: http://www.ingredientsfilm.com.
Chatom wine will be available for purchase and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. Raffle tickets will also be available for purchase for a chance to win a variety of locally produced products.
Slow Food Calaveras is dedicated to spreading the word about our county’s local producers, encouraging an appreciation for fresh food and becoming a food education resource for our community.
Proceeds from the annual event will go toward chapter initiatives such as last year’s school lunch program where members brought various fruits and veggies into the local schools and educated interested children about fresh, local food.
