It's a seasonal extravaganza, Sourdough's Wild & Wooly Revue, featuring popular Gold Country old time music makers, Sourdough Slim & The Saddle Pals, Faux Renwah, and Robert Armstrong in a once-a-year opportunity to catch all these artists in a show together.

Thrill to the mind-boggling yodeling of the infamous Sourdough Slim. Delight in the harmonious Western melodies of The Saddle Pals. Catch the wise-cracking Cactus Bob, lovely bass-thumping Prairie Flower and Michael P. Kennedy as they revel in Old Time Music nirvana with their Faux Renwah band. Be amazed by the world champion musical saw and string instrument wizardry of Robert Armstrong.

01:30 PM 'The Past & Present Of The Utica Water & Power Authority," A Lecture By Michael Minkler
Angels Camp,CA...Join us on Sunday, January 8th at 1:30 p.m. There will be light refreshments and the lecture is between 2 - 3 p.m. in the Museum's Carriage House. Utica Water and Power Authority (UWPA) dates to the Gold Rush when miners created a system of reservoirs, ditches, and flumes to bring snow runoff from the high country down to the gold mines. At the dawn of the hydroelectric age in the early 1900s, powerhouses were built in Murphys and Angels Camp utilizing the water to deliver the first electricity to local residents and to the Utica Mine. PG&E acquired the system and owned it until 1995 when Angels Camp, the Union Public Utility District, and the Calaveras County Water District formed UWPA to purchase all water rights, facilities, and infrastructure related to the water system and the two powerhouses. UWPA has owned and operated the system since then and its water system remains the sole source of water for communities and irrigators from Murphys to Angels Camp.

UWPA’s General Manager, Michael Minkler, will be the guest speaker. Michael was UWPA’s General Counsel from July 2013 until November 2015, at which point he was appointed to General Manager. Michael and his wife Nancy established a law office in Arnold after moving to the area in 2013.
Cost: free for museum members, $10 non-members

Memberships start at just $35. Become a member and receive free entry to lectures and unlimited free admission to the museum for one year. Sign up today!

Located on a 3-acre site of the historic Angels Quartz Mine, the Angels Camp Museum dedicates collections to inspire understanding of the gold country history of Angels Camp and the Mother Lode region.
