All Day Arts of Bear Valley Window Gallery April Artists
Arnold, CA...Artists Janet Alcalde and Margaret Sloan will exhibit paintings and photographs in Arnold Shopping Center window gallery. Jan Alcalde and Margaret Sloan exhibit nature-inspired art at Meadowmont Shopping Center in Arnold.

Photographer and watercolorist Janet Alcalde joins with painter Margaret Sloan to exhibit artworks centered on nature at the Arts of Bear Valley Window Gallery at Meadowmont Shopping Center in Arnold. You’ll be able to view their work from April 1 to April 30.

Jan Alcalde has been dabbling with photography for years and took up watercolor in retirement.  Her images are inspired by the wonders of nature and the Sierra Nevada.  She is also hopelessly enchanted by the beauty of New Mexico and the southwest in general, returning whenever possible to enjoy and capture its magic.

Sloan’s soft watercolors and oil paintings focus on still lifes, portraits, and landscapes, all related to her love of nature. “So many of us feel adrift these days,” she said. “My artwork holds space for the viewer to connect with nature, other people, and ultimately, themselves.”

The Arts of Bear Valley Window Gallery is window space donated graciously by the Meadowmont Shopping Center where Arts of Bear Valley artists exhibit their work to the public. Artwork is for sale; information at the space gives instructions to purchase the artwork. Contact Alcalde at 209-728-33656 or jalcalde@comcast.net or Sloan at 650/823-5538 or www.margaretsloan.com to learn more about their work and purchase directly from them.)

Arts of Bear Valley is a local association devoted to developing and promoting the visual arts along the Upper Highway 4 corridor in Calaveras and Alpine counties. Learn more about Arts of Bear Valley at www.aobv.com.

All Day Salt Water Hot Tub Sale at High Country Spa & Stove Center
Arnold, CA...Come see Bill & Barbara at High Country Spa & Stove Center located at 2720 Hwy 4 in Arnold or call us at 209-795-3593. We are participating in a Hot Spring Spa. National Campaign on Salt Water Spas. See below for details.

Family owned and operated since 1983, we are the premier hot tub, stove and fireplace source in Calaveras, Tuolumne and Amador counties. Bill Deplitch is a general contractor and built many homes in the Arnold area from the late 70’s to the early 90’s. Today, along with his wife Barbara, they run High Country Spa and Stove Center along with their son Zachary who is the “go-to” service manager. High Country Spa and Stove Center brings to the table a wealth of valuable construction experience. It is this experience that sets them apart from the rest. In addition to retail services, their background in building enables them to tackle an entire project from decks and hot tub enclosures to remodels.

Our hot tubs come exclusively from the Hot Spring Spas family including Limelight Hot Tubs and Hot Spot Spas. Check our extensive online Virtual Showroom; it’s is a great resource when selecting a hot tub and our knowledgeable staff is eager to help you while online or when you visit our Arnold showroom!

A wood stove, gas stove, pellet stove or fireplace compliments the luxury and relaxation of a hot tub. We have a wide selection, including Jotul and their full line of cast iron stoves, so whether you are looking for a fireplace or a traditional stove, you’ll find it here. Our fireplaces are supplied by Johnson Gas, specifically the Mendota Hearth Division, as well as Valor, which is manufactured by Miles Industries. We are also a Country Stove dealer, which is now owned by IHP.

With a foundation built of quality products and an experienced staff, High Country Spa and Stove Center is ready to transform your home into a sanctuary. Make High Country your one stop shop for a relaxing getaway at your own home!

12:00 AM - 08:00 PM Bret Harte FFA’s Greenhand Officer Team Fundraiser at El Jardin
Murphys, CA...The 2022-2023 Bret Harte FFA Greenhand officer team is holding a fundraiser on April 18th at El Jardin in Murphys. From noon to 8PM, a portion of the proceeds will go to the FFA program for our end of the year annual FFA banquet. You can dine-in or take-out and you will still be supporting Bret Harte FFA. This is a brand-new fundraiser for the chapter, so let’s make it a great turnout! Make sure to stop by El Jardin next Tuesday April 18th!

The Greenhand FFA Officer team is solely freshman to expose them to an FFA leadership role during their first year in our Ag program. The team works alongside the chapter officers, plans a fundraiser for the chapter, runs their very own FFA meeting in January, and does the flag ceremony at the annual end of the year FFA Banquet. This team has been a tradition of Bret Harte FFA for many years, and we look forward to this team “building their golden foundations” and seeing them thrive in the future.
