Labor Day Concert Monday, September 3, 2018 5:00 p.m. Murphys Community Park
Murphys, CA...A free Labor Day Concert by the longest “laboring” band in the County, the Calaveras Community Band, will take place at the Murphys Community Park on Monday, September 3, 2018, at 5:00 p.m. (Please note this time is earlier than usual starting times.) The Calaveras Community Band has been in existence since the 1880s, and it is something special!

Bring your friends and family, young and old, “laboring” or not, to Murphys Park to enjoy the live music on this holiday. You might want to bring a picnic dinner and your swimsuit for a dip in the creek, while the Band performs patriotic pieces, Latin music, a Gershwin tune or two, a medley from Phantom of the Opera, as well as other familiar favorites. There will be something for everyone!

Please note that during the summer, the Calaveras Community Band practices every Monday evening (until Labor Day) in the Murphys Community Park. These informal concerts begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by rehearsals from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Everyone is always welcome to come listen. Musicians of all ages and experience are invited to join the Calaveras Community Band. For more information, please contact conductor Mic Harper at (209) 770-1258, micharper7@gmail.com; or Carol Betz at (209) 728-5001, calaverascommunityband@gmail.com; or visit our website at calaverascommunityband.org. We would love to have you join us!
