Arnold, CA...Arnold SIR (Sons in Retirement), Branch 152, will hold its Monthly Luncheon Meeting on Tuesday, January 15 , 2019 at 11:00 am, in Snow Flake Lodge at the Blue Lake Springs Homeowners Association, 335 Blue Lake Springs Dr., Arnold, CA. Our speaker this month will be Ebbetts Pass Fire Protection District Chief, Mike Johnson. Mike will discuss and explain the Advanced Life Support Program Sustainability tax measure that will be voted on the May 7th by Mail in Ballot.

The Fire District is in need of a new funding plan to support the declining paramedic and ambulance programs and District vehicles. The Districts newest fire engine is 25 years old.
The last tax to support the Fire District was in 2004, when an annual tax of $89 for improved lots and $27 for unimproved lots was established and designed to fund the District for 10 years. The District has stretched that funding for 15 years and is now in need of new financial support in the form of a special tax.
All firefighters with Ebbetts Pass Fire are also trained paramedics. Without additional funding the District will be required to reduce services and personal.
Mike will explain the three-tiered plan to be voted on in May. This is an important life safety issue for all full and part-time Arnold residents.
SIR (Sons in Retirement) is a Men’s only organization. We are not political, and not associated to any religious organization, we are not a service club, we have no paid employees and no physical assets; we meet entirely for the benefit of our members. Luncheon visitors are asked to contact the Membership Director about attending scheduled meetings, we welcome all retired gentlemen.
