New Forest Supervisor to Speak at Tuolumne County Farm Bureau Annual Dinner
Sonora, CA...The Tuolumne County Farm Bureau is hosting its 66th Annual Dinner and Meeting on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the Tuolumne County Sheriff Posse Clubhouse at 19130 Rawhide Road, Jamestown. Jeanne Higgins, our new Forest Supervisor for the Stanislaus National Forest, will be the guest speaker.
The event starts at 6 p.m. with the No Host Social and continues with Tri Tip and Chicken Dinner at 7 p.m. Reservations can be made by calling the Farm Bureau Office at 533-8386. Dinner is $25 if reserved by Monday, October 20, 2014. Tickets at the door are $30. A fund raiser for the Ag in the Classroom program will be held at the event.
The election of the 2014-2015 Board of Directors for the Tuolumne County Farm Bureau will take place at the Annual Dinner. Nominated to serve on the board are Terri Arington, Lettie Beeman, Bob Brennan, Jesse Cover, Shaun Crook, Sasha Farkas, Ken Fleming, Bill Gaiser, Dick Gaiser, Chris Hammond, Ron Peterson, Dave Pish, Zach Rehder, and Nathan Rosasco.
Tuolumne County Farm Bureau was established in 1947, representing the interests of the agricultural community and the rural way of life. The Farm Bureau volunteers represent agribusiness on county, state and national issues of importance to Tuolumne County agriculture. Tuolumne County Farm Bureau has been actively involved in dealing with the aftermath of the Rim Fire, the Ag Element of the General Plan, and issues surrounding the water needs of Tuolumne County.
Membership in the Tuolumne County Farm Bureau is available to those generating an income from agriculture as well as those supporting agriculture in the community.
