Yes, it’s wonderful to share gifts of home preserved foods during the holidays, but it’s even better when those gifts are eaten as part of a delicious meal. In addition to giving food gifts, share recipes and meal suggestions on how to use the food you lovingly prepared.
The UCCE Master Food Preservers of Amador and Calaveras counties present an inspiring two-hour class sharing some of their favorite preserved food gifts and recipes that use them. Giving a jar of homemade pomegranate jelly? There’s so many ways to use it that don’t involve toast! Come and see how a small basket of preserved foods can grow into a full meal, including ingredients for salad, side dishes, meats or vegetarian main dishes, and dessert.
This class is from 10-12 noon at the Amador County GSA Building, 12200-B Airport Road, Jackson and is free; no reservation necessary. For more information, visit http://ucanr.edu/mfpcs or call the UCCE Master Food Preservers at 209-223-6857. |
