Calaveras Bonsai Club features affordable miniature trees
Calaveras Bonsai Club features affordable miniature trees
Calaveras Bonsai Club will present a unique opportunity to start or build a collection of potted miniature trees as part of their Saturday, November 2 meeting at 10 a.m. The meeting will be held at club member David Anderson’s home at 11701 Quiggle Road in Herald, located four miles east of Galt in Sacramento County.

Anderson acquired a large assortment of pre-bonsai and established tree starts from a local nursery that closed and will have them for sale to members and non-members alike from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at his one acre site. “These are valued bonsai being offered at highly reduced prices to encourage interest in this living art form,” said Anderson. “We have so many different varieties to choose from with some between 30 to 40 years old.”

At the monthly meeting, Dan Balsley, club president will present a free demonstration on styling black pine. Members will also be available to provide guests with information on bonsai care.

Membership in the Calaveras Bonsai Club is open to everyone and not limited to residents of Calaveras County. Contact David Anderson at (209) 748-5886 for driving instructions. For club information, call Dan Balsley at (209) 603-1823.
