Vallecito, Ca...Twisted Oak Winery is pleased to announce the continuation of our Twisted Folk Concert Series – featuring the Peter Rowan Bluegrass Band! “The Peter Rowan Bluegrass Band was the most popular show last year, and the most requested artists to have back this year,” said winery co-owner Jeff Stai. “Who am I to buck popular opinion? These guys are one of the best bluegrass bands around.” An easy dinner of sliders and pasta salad will be available for purchase (a vegetarian option is available), along with yummy Twisted Oak wine, brownies, popcorn, and soft drinks. Murphys, Ca...Join us on the lawn at the Historic Murphys Hotel at 5:30pm for a wine and cheese pairing class with Judy Creighton. Judy will present cheese with award winning wines from the 2014 Professional Wine Competition at the Calaveras County Fair. Wines of the World is an integral part of the wine associations educational program. Cost for CWA members is $20 and $25 for non-members, ($5 more than our usual pairing as we are providing cheese). Murphys, Ca...The oil paintings of Janette Jones will be showcased the month of June at Hovey Winery Tasting Room, 350 A Main St., Murphys. An artist’s reception in her honor will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 7 with complimentary appetizers and wine available by the glass for $5. The comments most heard about her paintings are “they make me feel joyful” and “they lift my spirits.” Jones, who is very optimistic about life and positive about the future, is thrilled that her paintings reflect this “joie de vivre” attitude.
