Elected officials, legislative staffers, media and members of the public jockeyed their frogs in hopes of winning the coveted trophies. There are three winning categories: longest, shortest and media jump. The only skill required of the frogs is the ability to leap far and wide. The jockeys are responsible for inspiring their frogs to move. Trophies and bragging rights were awarded to winners of the following categories...

The Easter Egg hunt was sponsored and organized by the Murphys Angels Lions Club and is one of their big events of the year....

Angels Camp, CA....Fourteen young women are vying for the title of Miss Calaveras in the scholarship pageant which highlights opening night, May 15, of the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee. The Fair runs May 15-18 at Frogtown in Angels Camp....

The 2014 Celtic Faire Brought The Medieval To Life

Sonora CA... The first part of March the Celtic fair rolled into Mother Lode Fairgrounds. We had hoped to get this feature posted much earlier but hopefully better late than never. The Faire is now three days and is one of the largest Celtic Faires around. It featured Jousting, nonstop entertainment, over 600 costumed attendees, historic reenactments, Celtic food & drink, music archery, dragons juggling dancing and much much more...
