Dodge Ridge To Open Limited Terrain On Thursday |

Pinecrest, CA...Dodge Ridge will open this Thursday, Feb 13 for upper mountain Skiing + Riding! The past five days of snowfall have left Dodge Ridge with 51″ at the summit (8,200 ft), 20-24″ at the mid-mountain locals lodge (7,100 ft) and a foot of new snowfall at the base area (6,600 ft). Chairs 5, 7, 8 and T Bar-643 will be in operation for upper mountain intermediate to advanced skiers and riders. Very Limited beginner terrain will be available, Snowsports School Lessons programs will be reservations only.

Calaveras Fair Will Hit The Jackpot In Poker Tournament |

Frogtown, USA....The Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee will hit the jackpot at a Poker Tournament set for Feb. 22 at Jackson Rancheria Casino. The Friends of the Fair are sponsoring the event, the latest in its ongoing series of events benefitting the fair. Texas Hold’em is the action for the tournament which begins at 11 a.m. Tournament registration is $125 and starts at 10 a.m. The games will be followed by a dinner at 5:30 p.m. Non-players can join the fun for dinner at a cost of $30...

The Straits is comprised of Dire Straits' Alan Clark and Chris White with five hand-picked, world class musicians - Terence Reis, Steve Ferrone from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Mickey Féat, Adam Phillips and Jamie Squire.
