Now in its sixth year at the Bret Harte Theater, Studio 4 Dance Theater launches a fresh, professional quality production of “The Nutcracker” each holiday season while still staying true to the Christmastime adventures of Clara and her Nutcracker Prince. Colorful sets, vibrant costumes, and the timeless music of Tchaikovsky bring audiences back year after year. The 2014 version is set in an orphanage at the turn of the century; Clara’s parents have passed away from a plague, and Dr. Drosselmeyer is a visiting magician. The first act will also boast a brand new set with a backdrop by local artist Tim Smith....

Angels Camp, The Angels Camp Business Association presented their third annual Christmas of Angels Open House from 4 to 8 p.m. and the 24th annual Parade of Lights in downtown Angels Camp on Saturday. There were lots of locals and visitors out and about watching a great parade, celebrating the holidays and enjoying shopping at local merchants. The parade has some great entries and the "Frozen" float was Rose Parade worthy....

Murphys, CA - Riley Klassen and the Klassen family present the 8th Annual Klassen Klassic Turkey Trot, taking place at Murphys Community Park on November 27, 2014. The event consists of a road race-open to serious runners, as well as walkers, joggers, kids, strollers, and dogs. Two distances are available, a 2.5 mile as well as a 5. Both courses start and end at the Murphys park. Participants are asked to bring a non-perishable canned food item as their registration fee. Registration will start at 8 am, and the race will start at 9am. Registration fee is one item of canned food per person. Commemorative T-SHIRTS will be sold for $20, proceeds will go to local food bank to assist families in need....
