Bear Valley, CA....Bear Valley's Mattly Trent says they are expecting a couple of inches of new snow and the grooming crews are dong a great job providing a good skier & boarder experience on the terrain they have open under man-made snow conditions. Remember Millitary personal ride Free on Sundays. Bear Valley continues to support Military Families with a free lift ticket to all active Military personnel every Sunday and a $25 ticket any other day, including holidays. New this year, Bear Valley announces the extension of the same benefit to Military spouses that carry a valid Military ID.

Murphys, CA...Mother Lode Bridal Fair - Join the Chamber on Sunday, January 19th from 11 a.m.- 3 p.m. in the Mark Twain Exhibit Hall at Calaveras County Fair Grounds in Angels Camp. Free Admission, Free Parking and Wonderful Prizes. Enter to win a FREE Hawaiian Honeymoon courtesy of Above & Beyond Travel. We will feature all types of vendors from local wineries, DJ's, caterers, printers, florist, wedding planners, locations, wedding gowns, formal wear, rental, videographers, musicians, jewelry and more. Valley Springs, CA....For many years, East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) has conducted public boat excursions on our reservoirs each winter in search of bald eagles and other birds and wildlife. We are fortunate to once again offer this opportunity to our local community. Murphys, CA...Years ago, I worked for Ironstone Vineyards. The following story is one of my favorite memories of working in the Sierra Mountain region. It all happened in Calaveras County. It was a two and a half year gig. I intuitively knew going into it that it would only last two years. It managed to squeak it out to two and a half years, with the last six months really squeaking along… except for that howling wolf night. Perhaps that’s why I had to stay for the last six months, to live and tell this memorable story....
