St. Patrick's Day Mystery Dinner in West Point “Deadly Incentive” |

West Point, CA...March 15 at 6:30pm, West Point Community Hall will become rollicking O'Malley's Pub for the Blue Mountain Players mystery dinner production of Karen Haley's “Deadly Incentive”. The third mystery dinner for the Blue Mountain Players in recent years, “Deadly Incentive” combines the fun of live, interactive theater with delicious food and drink. Set in a friendly neighborhood pub in the midst of a contest for $5,000 in gold doubloons, you can be sure the evening will involve laughter, intrigue, and murder! The cast of veteran performers will introduce guests to teatotaling pub owner Seamus O'Malley (played by Jeff Haight), shady publicists Peter and Moira Blackwell (Bruce and Kim Powell), scheming secretary Irma Snell (Temera Arlt), conniving contestant Lurleen Johnson (Nan Muzinich), and clever detective Joanie Malone (Ruby Kolar) - each with a motive for murder.

Jamestown, CA..Beginning in April, Railtown 1897 State Historic Park (SHP) in Jamestown will resume offering popular steam-powered excursion train rides on weekends from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. While the Park is open daily, on weekends beginning April 5-6, guests will enjoy a memorable six-mile, 45-minute round trip ride along the rails of the famous “Movie Railroad.” And to kick off the new season, excursion train rides on opening weekend will be offered behind the “Movie Star Locomotive” Sierra No. 3. And, during opening weekend only, residents of Calaveras, Mariposa and Tuolumne counties can visit the Park and ride for free with proof of residency. Especially given California State Parks is celebrating its 150 year anniversary this year, visitors from near and far are encouraged to visit Railtown 1897 SHP to step aboard a historic train ride that passes through California’s scenic Gold Country and enjoy the unique offerings provided by the State Park...

Murphys, CA...Mark your calendar now for Irish Day in Murphys, March 15 - Each year on the third Saturday in March, Murphys shuts down Main Street and prepares to celebrate like only the Irish can. Join us for a parade at 11 am, stay to eat, taste and shop the Irish Day booths, local tasting rooms and stores of Murphys, buy a raffle ticket for a chance to win our famous trip to Ireland, enjoy music, dancing and Celtic entertainment on our two stages and wrap the day up with dinner at one of our restaurants. 10 am to 5 pm - get here early to grab a good spot to watch the parade. Main Street will be closed to traffic from 6 am to 6 pm. You can purchase raffle tickets now at many locations in town...just look for the raffle poster..
