Murphys, CA....A crowd of over 170 people gathered in the Music Room of Ironstone Vineyards Saturday night to see three couples compete for the coveted Mirror Ball with a theme of Broadway. Twinkling stars, ostrich feathers and lighted wall graphics dazzled the guests as they enjoyed the evening’s entertainment. In addition to the show the hosts, Mark Twain Medical Center Foundation, celebrated their 30th Anniversary by presenting a check for $250,000 to the Mark Twain Medical Center to begin the design phase of the Angels Camp Family Medical Center...

Above are many additional photos. We didn't get a chance to video the competition but the dances were great. Below is a demo dance video from Lauren Nicole and Edwin Bobrycki. If this was their demo...you can just imagine what their performance was like. The competition was won by Debbie Peterson & Mike Butow.

Murphys, CA...In honor of Veteran's Day, the Ebbetts Pass Veteran's Memorial District held a very nice ceremony paying tribute and honoring all United States military veterans. It was held at the beautiful creekside monument which is located on Algiers Street across from the Murphys Park. The Calaveras Community Band and Bret Harte High School senior, Brice Gilpin singing the Star Spangled Banner provided the musical accompaniment. Dozens of local veterans attended with a very nice group of WWII veterans. To see the numbers of our WWII vets shrink every year is a sobering reminder how fast we are losing the history living among us as the greatest generation fades away...
