FIRE NEWS....Structure Fire Being Reported in West Point area (UPDATED)

West Point, CA...There is a fully engulfed two story structure fire being reported in West Point. Additional Emergency services from Altaville Fire Department have been called in to assist. The address of the structure fire is 8501 Skunk Hollow Road. It was a two story solar powered home. Several agencies contributed equipment and manpower. There were 4 engines, 2 water tenders. CAL Fire has a Batallion Chief, a fire investigator and one engine still on scene as of 8:30pm this evening.

Local Firefighters "Fill the Boot for Burns"

Angels Camp, CA….On February 23rd , 2008 local firefighters from the Angels Camp Fire Department will be participating in the national “Fill the Boot for Burns” fundraiser. Firefighters will be holding their boots at the intersection of Murphys Grade and Main Street in Angels Camp from 9:00am-3:00pm. This heroic event helps raise money to support burn victims and burn prevention....

Stabbing Victim Sent Via Air-Ambulance to UC Davis Med. Center

On Saturday February 9th, just after 11 pm Calaveras Sheriff deputies were called to the Mark Twain St. Joseph's Emergency Room for a reported stabbing victim. Tim Haley, age 55 of Valley Springs, was admitted with several apparent stab wounds. Initially reported as an accidental stabbing, evidence obtained and the subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Rader who is the victim's brother-in-law....

CHP is reporting a single vehicle has hit spun out and hit an embankment at Hwy 26 just east of Mokelumne Hill. The lane is blocked so please try to avoid the area if possible.

Angels Camp, CA… Last Saturday over sixty firefighters from various departments in Calaveras County participated in a large scale extrication drill. Departments included: Angels City Fire, Altaville-Melones Fire, Copper Fire, Central Fire, Murphys Fire, Ebbetts Pass Fire, and Foothill Fire. The all day training was held at the Angels City Fire station 2. During this training firefighters and emergency personnel practiced "MCI" Multi Casualty Incident training....
