Felony DUI Charges for Murphys Man, Major Injuries to Arnold Juveniles in Hwy 4 Collision |

Murphys, CA...On April 14, 2020, at approximately 1835 hours, Sky Harris was driving his 2005 Subaru Forester eastbound on SR-4, approaching Northwood Drive. Carlos Vigil was driving his 2006 Chrysler Town and Country westbound on SR-4, approaching Northwood Drive, traveling approximately 55 mph, approaching the Subaru. Mr. Harris made a left turn, towards Northwood Drive, directly into the path of Mr. Vigil. Mr. Vigil swerved to the right in an attempt to avoid a collision with the Subaru. The left front of the Chrysler collided with the right front of the Subaru causing injuries to the four juvenile occupants of the Chrysler.

Sonora, CA...From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Office..."On Monday morning, just before 1 am, deputies were patrolling the area of Crystal Falls Drive near Feather River Drive in Sonora when they saw a man riding a bicycle in the shadows of residential yards. The man, later identified as 22-year-old Austin Lassa of Sonora, was wearing dark clothing and carrying a pair of dark colored gloves, a black ski mask, and a black back pack.

Angels Camp, CA...(Update...There are legitimate and helpful people in our communities trying to help out during this COVID-19 era. General warnings are needed against COVID-19 Scams which are real but many people are just trying to do their part to help. Be aware, if it smells fishy it probably is and the corollary is also true! If the person or organization has proved their community centric bonafides in the past they are probably doing the right thing now as well) There was a recent scare for Calaveras county residents that involved an unauthorized solicitation for tech equipment and donations for local students. The attempt was cunningly crafted and appealed to county residents wanting to support students challenged by distance learning.
