Copperopolis, CA..Obyrnes Ferry Road just North of the County Line will be closed for a few minutes as they remove a big rig that crashed earlier this morning in a non injury accident. Use Caution in the area.

DUI Causes Moderate Injury Motorcycle Accident on Hwy 26 Last Evening

A 52 year old man from Tracy, CA. was riding his 1990 Kawasaki on Hwy 26 west of Rose Marie Drive on April 23, 2008 at approximately 9:05pm when due to his level of intoxication he allowed his motorcycle to leave the paved roadway onto the dirt. He then struck a wooden fence and overturned. He refused medical aid at the scene and was arrested for Driving under the influence. He was then transported to Mark Twain St. Josephs Hospital by CHP. He was treated, released and booked into custody of the Calaveras County jail. Full CHP report is enclosed....

Sonora, CA....Fire Safe Council President Jerry Tannhauser today announced that on Thursday, May 1, the Highway 108 FireSafe Council is inviting homeowners in the Twain Harte area, to meet and discuss fire protection, emergency preparedness, and fire prevention measures needed to protect life, property, and resources from wildland fires. The subject area includes public and private land accessed by Middle Camp, North Tuolumne, Twain Harte Drive, and Joaquin Gully Roads, and California State Highway 108.....

Fire Report in For 2 Acre Vegetation Fire in Mountain Ranch on Monday

Mountain Ranch, CA....CAL Fire has sent the official fire report on the escaped debris burn that spread to a 2 acre vegetation fire at 6236 Swiss Ranch Road in Mountain Ranch yesterday afternoon. There were no injuries and no dollar damage reported. CAL Fire report enclosed.....

Valley Springs, CA...A 45 year old Valley Springs man was arrested for felony DUI causing injury following a collision that caused major injuries to a San Andreas woman and minor injuries to a Valley Springs woman. The subject failed to notice stopped and turning vehicles in front of him and crossed over into oncoming traffic. The CHP release is enclosed...

Another Escaped Debris Burn Today....This Time in Mountain Ranch.

Mountain Ranch, CA...When we spoke with CAL-FIRE's Lisa Williams a few minutes ago she wanted us to stress that when you have a debris pile burning you are supposed to have a 10 foot perimeter down to the dirt around the fire and are supposed to man the fire at all times as well. The Mountain Ranch Blaze was about two acres in size and had two state and two local engines and helicopter 404 even made an appearance...

Burn Permits Required as of May 1st, 2008~By Lisa Williams

San Andreas – On Thursday, May 1, 2008 burn permits will be required within Tuolumne and Calaveras counties. Conditions are volatile in Tuolumne and Calaveras counties and both counties have experienced high, gusty winds on a regular basis this year, more than in previous years. The combination of low fuel moistures and high winds generally leads to an increased number of debris burn escapes. These escaped debris burns threaten lives, property and forest resources. Currently, live fuel moistures are approximately 30% lower than this time last year with 15% less rainfall then our 5 year average for this time of....

TRAFFIC NEWS....DUI Leads to Arrest in Mokelumne Hill This Evening

CHP Reporting a Possible Misdemeanor, DUI, which caused a traffic collision at Hwy 49 just north of Golden Hills Subdivision in Mokelumne Hill at approximately 7:30pm this evening. Apparently the driver's vehicle rolled over and may have caused damage to multiple vehicles. The driver has been taken into custody for DUI. Will keep you posted as needed.
