Silver Alert for Missing Helen Coultrup of San Andreas

San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance regarding the disappearance of 87 year old Helen Coultrup of San Andreas. A Silver Alert has been activated and local agencies have been notified in the attempt to locate Helen. We ask that any information be reported by calling our office at (209)754-6500.

Arrest Made after ATV and Other Items Stolen on Microtronics Way

Sonora, CA...On the morning of July 29th, Tuolumne County Sheriff's Deputies took a burglary report from a business on Microtronics Way in Sonora. Two men were seen on surveillance video breaking into several vehicles and cutting the chain link fence stealing several items including a side-by-side off-road vehicle from the side parking area of the business. A short time later, Deputies responded to the Hog Mountain Road area in Jamestown for a suspicious person report. Deputies located 25-year-old Alex Kirkbride with the stolen side-by-side off-road vehicle in a driveway on Twist Road in Jamestown.

Murphys Man & Columbia Woman Arrested on Drug & Other Charges

Sonora, CA...Tuesday night a Sheriff’s Deputy pulled over a Ford Escape on Jamestown Road for a broken license plate light. A records check was conducted of the driver, 43-year-old Brian Lancaster of Murphys and his passenger, 37-year-old Marshae Wolf of Columbia. Lancaster and Wolf both had a suspended driver’s license. K9 Zeus conducted a sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics. A search of the vehicle turned up a collapsible baton, a digital scale, packaging materials, and nearly 7 grams of methamphetamine. Wolf was also found in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia hidden on her person.

Moderate Injuries to Tuolumne Woman in Collision After Falling Asleep at Wheel

Tuolumne, CA...On August 1, 2019 at approximately 1:15am, 22-year-old, Arissa Helen Jones from Tuolumne, was driving alone in her 2012 Ford, northbound on Cherokee Road near Tuolumne Road at approximately 35 miles per hour. As she approached a left curve in the roadway, she fell asleep. Her vehicle traveled to the right and off the roadway. After leaving the roadway, her vehicle first collided into a tree then into a large rock. Her vehicle came to rest on a dry patch of vegetation, which subsequently caught fire.

DUI & Weapons Arrest for Coulterville Man

Sonora, CA...On July 28th at 11:03 pm, CHP Officers contacted James Black, a 46-year-old resident of Coulterville on Mono Way at the westbound SR-108 off ramp for driving with a broken windshield and weaving.  Upon contact with the driver, Officers observed several impact weapons throughout the vehicle. One of the impact weapons had a weight of approximately one pound with a length of 3 feet.  Officers observed symptoms of intoxication and when Mr. Black was directed to exit the 1995 Chevrolet Silverado, a loaded .357 caliber revolver was revealed under his right leg on the driver seat.

Sheriff’s SWAT & Hostage Negotiation Team Conduct Training With CUSD Bus Drivers

Toyon, CA...On July 29, 2019, members of the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Sheriff’s SWAT and Hostage Negotiation Team conducted training with the Calaveras Unified School District Transportation Department school bus drivers. As part of ongoing training, we reviewed procedures with the bus drivers as well as had open discussion on planning and scenarios. Thank you to CUSD for inviting us and for the opportunity to enhance school district preparedness and safety.

Sonora High Sports Team Coordinator & Coach Arrested on Sexual Abuse Charges

Sonora, CA...This afternoon a staff member from a Tuolumne County School was arrested as a result of a recent investigation into a sexual abuse allegation. The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office was notified of possible sexual abuse between a staff member and student at Sonora High School. The sexual abuse was reported to have begun when the student was 15-years-old. The suspect, 42-year-old Amy Denise Emerald, is a staff member who serves as a sports team coordinator and coach. The victim... was a former student and player. Detectives notified the Sonora High School Superintendent regarding the allegations and investigation to ensure the safety of students. An investigation was conducted, and it was determined there was enough evidence for an arrest.

Arson Arrest for Forest Meadows Fire in Calaveras County

San Andreas – On Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at approximately 2:37 PM the CAL FIRE Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit responded to a wildland fire located on Sandalwood Drive in the community of Forest Meadows, CA. The fire was contained to 0.14 acres and damaged an adjacent residence. During the course of the investigation a 25 year old female, Katrina Kelly, was identified as the person responsible for the fire. Katrina Kelly was arrested for violation of Penal Code Section 451(b) - Arson to an inhabited structure and Penal Code Section 454(a)(2) - Violation of PC 451 during a State of Emergency.

San Andreas Man Sentanced to 350 Years to Life for Rape & Sexual Assaults

San Andreas, CA...On July 15, 2019, visiting Judge Susan Harlan sentenced Anthony Christopher Blymyer, 44, to a term of 350 years to life in state prison for repeated and violent sex offenses he committed against two young children. Blymyer had been found guilty as charged of 14 separate counts and special allegations by a Calaveras County Jury on May 16, 2019, following a trial lasting seven days.
