Local Search & Rescue Teams Continue Recovery Work on Camp Fire

Posted by: thepinetree on 11/27/2018 10:33 PM
Paradise, CA....From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Dept....."Our Search and Rescue volunteers continue their work in wildfire scarred areas. On day one, volunteers went to specific addresses in Concow to verify that they had been searched. Today, we joined 8 other teams to meticulously move material within the foundations. During the mission, our team came across a scared and hungry kitty they named “Smokey.” She was so happy to see them and was quickly treated with Neosporin on her burned paws and given food and water. Smokey rode with Search and Rescue to Animal Control who then transported her to a veterinarian for care. It’s painstaking work and it will take time for this community to recover, but we are glad we can provide support and help in their time of need.

Dispute over Dog Possession Leads to Altercation

Posted by: thepinetree on 11/16/2018 02:29 PM
Valley Springs, CA...On 11-15-18 at about 4:50pm, CCSO Deputies responded to a residence in the 2000 block of Dale Drive, Valley Springs for a reported altercation and dog stolen. The victim told deputies that she witnessed suspect Edward Pereira (age 45 of Campo Seco) access her yard through an unlocked gate. The suspect reportedly took a white dog out of the yard and put the dog in his vehicle. A relative of the victim happened to arrive and parked his truck behind the suspect. The suspect vehicle reportedly reversed striking the other truck and pushing it across the road. This caused a neighbor’s mailbox to be damaged when it was struck by one of the vehicles. The suspect vehicle then reportedly swerved towards both subjects and Pereira brandished a black handgun before leaving the area.
