Sonora, CA...With the Fourth of July upon us, Stanislaus National Forest visitors can enjoy a variety of summer recreation activities, including camping, backpacking, and picnicking. Extreme temperatures are likely, so we encourage you to be prepared for summer heat. These unseasonably hot temperatures increase the risk of fire as the ground begins to dry. Extreme temperatures can also lead to thunderstorms and lightning, which can ignite trees on the forest.

The 2017-2018 Civil Grand Jury Final Report |
Posted by: thepinetree on 06/28/2018 08:57 PM
|
San Andreas, CA...Dear Judge Healy, The 2017-2018 Civil Grand Jury respectfully submits its final report in accordance with Penal Code 933(a) to the Calaveras County Superior Court. This year’s Grand Jury was composed of 19 dedicated citizens of Calaveras County who were determined and willing to work extra-long hours making recommendations for improvements to local government. It has been an unforgettable experience to work alongside these individuals who chose to prioritize tasks and duties in order to perform their jurisdictional rights to investigate any local government agencies. They also went far beyond my expectations in taking initiative to attend report writing workshops in Sacramento, the California Grand Juror’s Association conference in Monterey, and additional meetings at the Jury House. Their dedication to the Grand Jury is noted and appreciated.
